poor poor Corey Dillan.... a good player on a shitty team. If he had Emmit Smith's O-line (earley 90's) just think of how many yards he could have had.

but now that i think of it.... put anyone behind that O-line and watch the yards pile up

Spoken like an envious Redskins fan. Good thing they don't play the Cardinals this year, I'm sure Emmitt can still crank out a hundred yards against the Skins for old times sake.

Everyone alwasy says that, but then why didn't Emmitt's backups pile up the yards during those years? Obviously their total number of yards wouldn't be much considering Emmitt got 90% of the carries, but looking back at the glory years.

1992 -> Tommie Agee - 3.4 YPC, Curvin Richards - 3.6
1993 -> Derrick Lassin - 3.6, Lincol Coleman - 3.9
1994 -> Lincol Coleman - 2.8, Blair Thomas - 2.9
1995 -> Sherman Williams - 4.3
1996 -> Sherman Williams - 3.9
1997 -> Sherman Williams - 3.9
1998 -> Sherman Williams - 3.4, Chris Warren - 4.9
1999 -> Chris Warren 4.1

Not exactly mind blowing numbers. There is no doubt that amazing offensive line helped Emmitt gain yards, but Emmitt had a lot to do with it too.

hehe

i agree... Emmit is great!! But his O-line was amazing also. Do you think Ernest Byner would have had back to back 1,000 yard seasons without the Hogs??? hell no!!!

Do you think Mark Rypien would have thrown for 3,800 yards and 30 TD's without the hogs?? hell no!!

I didnt mean to take anything away from Emmit, he is the man.
But if someone jumps in here and ranks him in the top 3 of all time then your just lying to yourself

P.S. to all the Cowboy fans... did ya like that hit L.A. gave Aikman his rookie year??? I was so happy i was in tears

Yeah, LaVar ought to have an automatic nomination to the "ring of honor" for putting the lick on Aikman that ended his career.

For those who think Emmitt Smith will enjoy running behind the Cardinals O-line, I've got news for you. Any defensive coordinator in the league knows that the Cards will have no passing threat at all this year. I don't care if Jim Brown is in the backfield for Arizona - nobody runs well against 8 or 9 men in the box...

Hey Kodos - is it fun picking on high school kids?

Stop acting like a troll. Do you really need attention so badly?

If there is one thing to be said about a fan of a team such as the Bengals, they are the true sports fans. It's easy to support a team that wins all the time, but to support a team that basically has no hope year in and year out, that shows you really care. I should know, I have Lions season tix

Go Lions! Bring back Barry! I think Mooch will do a good job if Millen doesn't interfere too much, and it would be nice to see them turn things around.

Schmidty: I'm not picking on Shorty; well, at least I originally wasn't. I was picking on the Bengals organization (which let's face it, deserves some mockery) and he always has to take any mockery of the Bengals personally. I'm picking on the fact that Shorty has to attack me personally any time I even remotely say something that might reflect poorly on the Bengals or Cincinnati or Ohio State or anything in the entire state of Ohio. He could have just walked away, or not even clicked on my thread (any of them), and I would have been happy with that. But if he says I'm being a "fucking faggot", then yes, I'm going to respond. I am perfectly willing to ignore Shorty entirely if he will afford me the same luxury. I've offered that in the past, but he has not agreed apparently. I'm not going to censor my opinions about the Bengals just because Shorty blows his stack every time I mention them. He takes homerism to a whole new level. Why he even cares what some random nobody on the interent thinks about his beloved Bengals is beyond me...

Edit: Added quotes to "fucking faggot" to show that I'm not maligning gay folks, just quoting Shorty.

Undeniably. Hell, when the flagship station of your radio network runs promos for the postgame show that say "call us and tell us how bad the Bengals suck", that's a pretty telling sign.

Jon, I don't know if you were serious or just respondin to his comment.. but yeah.. I'm typically someone who takes nothing seriously and has fun..... and at school I dislike no one, seriously I talk to everyone and even joke around with my teachers.

Kodos + some incredibly disappointing stuff I heard today just threw me over the edge dude. Sorry if I came off like that.

My rep is bruised.
