FireFox login (cookie?) problem
Trying once again to tap into the always-reliable FOFC tech info base.
Here's the deal: I use FF 3.5.5 on my home laptop. Recently, through the fault of a dead/defective battery, I had FF shutdown abruptly without backing up, as the battery dies without notice and things just immediately went dead. Since then, I have had to re-login to all the places I frequent through my browser, including FOFC. Not a crisis, except I now seemingly have to re-login after each visit, no matter what. Background that may be relevant: -I use the NoScript and AdBlock Plus addons (plus others that don't seem relevant here) -I went to FF Tools Options Security, and verified that I still have "remember passwords for sites" clicked as active -This seems to happen even on sites that I have completely whitelisted for NoScript, as well as those I have partially blocked Hoping there's a simple solution that I'm just too simple to unearth. Any direction from the collective here? |

Try clearing the cookies, as the old ones could have faulty data.

I can't help here but thought I'd chime in and say I recently have had the exact same thing happen.
So you're not alone. I haven't had much luck figuring it out either, doesn't appear to be a simple odd setting or something. |

I have had the same problem, I never do anything different, and the problem seems to come and go. Usually after an update of some kind.

This happened to me too. Assuming you're using XP, go to the profile folder, ie. "C:\Documents and Settings\
Then delete cookies.sqlite, cookies-sqlite-journal and cookies.txt (if they all exist). Re-open FireFox and next time you login to anything it should remember the login.

Yeah I'd read that fix several places and didn't do anything for me. I'm running Windows 7 though.
Pretty frustrating, and apparently a lot more widespread than I thought. |

Ditto on both the "thanks for the help" and the "but it didn't work here." *shurg*

I have the same problem. Happens only on a new computer I got at work and a fresh install. Doesn't want to remember my cookies at all, and all the settings are right.

Hmmm, my problem may have evaporated, it seems. I did the sqlite fix above, and it didn't seem to work, but maybe it took after a full shutdown? *shurg*
