iPod Gurus - Need Help

I need some help. Even though I was able to rebuild my computer a few months back, not everything has been updated. My wife's iPod has never been synced back up. The problem that we now have is that the iPod was synced with the old computer, and not the new one. Is there a way to get her songs from her iPod on to the new machine?

The long and the short of it is, yes.

However, you have to be careful, if you've set it up to synchronize automatically, iTunes will try to sync it--which means songs will get deleted if you don't stop it.

What type of iPod is it? The jist of what you need to do is set the iPod for disk use, then go look in Windoze Explorer or Mac's file explorer for the iPod and pull the music off. It won't have normal names, but when you pull those files into iTunes, the songs will identify themselves.

tk is right. If you Google your question there are some good step by step instructions. The absolute key is to get into ITunes and turn off autosynch before you plug the Ipod in.
