Screw the Freshmen! They think they can get a better deal somewhere else???
Anyhow, EF27 thanks for letting us know the bad news. Also, thanks for doing a great job as the commish. Regardless of whether we get another season in or not, I appreciate your balanced approach to the league and your extra effort in being the commish. |

I totally agree on all counts. Thanks for all your hard work to make the NOFL a success. Hopefully we'll have another NCAA league at some point in the future

Thanks guys. I'd like to do another league at some point, but I just can't justify supporting some of EA's decisions this year and buying 2010 new. Maybe, I'll cave and buy it used at some point as there are some good things I liked in the demo.

All I can say is SON OF A BITCH. I was expecting one Stephens, not both. And 2 guys from the secondary...
Well ain't this a fine mess. Oh well, year 2 always seems to be the roughest year of my franchises off line...why expect anything different!!! I only have one season under my belt, but Eagles, you have been rock solid. Thanks a ton for letting me join. I've really enjoyed being in a league with all of you. This will be my last season (assuming we get it all in). Having twin boys is hard enough, but once school gets going again in mid August, I'll be lucky to have time for an off line dynasty, let alone scheduling an online one. I've enjoyed it though, hopefully I can get back into one by NCAA 12! |

Finished my recruiting. Does everyone know that this is a recruiting stage? 6 or 7 people still need to recruit. Good luck to everyone (unless you're recruiting against me ).

Recruiting done....more excitingly, glad my horrible bowl game didn't keep me from moving up to a 5 star school. Now if I can field a team good enough to keep it!

Wow. I just logged in and boy was I surprised at my recruiting class. I had lost recruits throughout the year and my board was down to 19 guys in Week 1 (with only 3 commits). I get an amazing 15 signings in week 1. I guess finally being a 6-star program is paying off. If we can sign a punter then we'll be set. The good news for me is that every signee (with the possible exception of a 3-star G) will get on the field next year. Before the week was simmed I was seriously expecting a 12-person recruiting class. After the way Stanford exploited my weaknesses last year, I need to regroup if I want to get back on top. Today definitely helped |

Half of the league still hasn't done their recruiting with a half hour to go until the deadline. I wonder if interest is dying? I also wonder if it is going to die down when NCAA 10 releases this Tuesday if by some chance it is actually a significantly improved product like some of the people who got it early on OS are saying it is?

Yep, we'll see. Both of the 1st 2 weeks, we've had about half of the members fail to submit anything. Also, one member has told me via PM that they are considering leaving the league due to time issues. |

That was me BTW that's considering leaving the league. I just don't have the time right now with work and out of town trips, as well as 4 soccer games a week. Considering it's unlikely we'll get through another full season, I just don't think I can justify sticking around with so much other shit to get through. Sorry guys

I think we're least likely to get involvement during the offseason period just in general, but the fact that this is the last season I think makes it seem almost pointless. I know sometimes you can land a fast freshman who can make an impact, but if you're a team with mostly returning seniors then it's hard to get the motivation to jump on there and recruit.

Sigh. Bad news. I was going my week 3 recruiting and just got the dreaded RROD failure. Ugh. Guess I'll have to see if I can ship this thing out and get it back asap. EF27, can you put me on vacation until then? I still want to finish this season but it looks like I'm out for recruiting. Damn.

Well, luck of luck. My Xbox Live card ran out. Our local Wal-Mart doesn't have one for me to pick up and my bank card was flagged last week so I'm waiting on a new one. GRRR. Very annoying. I'll be down to GS tomorrow to pick up 10 and will get a membership card then. Guess I'll miss week 3 recruiting, should be up for week 4 tomorrow.

I will continue with the league as long as I can, but I am getting the PS3 version this year. Unfortunately, I don't think I can participate in a league due to travel. I was supposed to go to DC this week, next week I go to Huntsville, and the two weeks after that I go to El Paso. I'm not sure about any travel after that other than I know I'll be gone in September for a couple weeks.
Then again, travel can get postponed like my trip to DC which is postponed to the week between Huntsville and El Paso. |

I have a bad feeling about the future of the league. Only RA and I have done the position changes so far. I know with the 1-day deadlines it was easy to forget the last stages of recruiting (I know I did for the last few), but this is a pretty important step. Hopefully everyone gets it done in the next 24 hours.

I also had done my position changes at that time. Not sure why it didn't show up as having done it. Hopefully, others have done it as well and just didn't set "ready to advance" which I think might be necessary to actually show it as being done. In any case, we have advanced to the Training Results Stage. We'll stay there 1 day for anyone who wants to view their results and then we have the cuts stage for all of your grey shirters out there. |

We're down to 7 teams in the NOFL. That's sad. 3 from the Big 12, 3 from the SEC, and Washington in the Pac-10. Mississippi State hasn't been on NCAA 09 in a month. Is he up for one more season?
Hopefully we can move the season along a bit faster with only 7 (maybe 6) people. We'll see what happens. |

Yeah, I deleted everyone who has indicated they didn't want to do another season. If we lose too many more people, I still commish but I'm not sure I'll actually play my games. So far, only 4 people have told me they are interested in playing this season. |

Looks like I'm cooking with gas again over here. Woo-hoo!
Working on preseaspn stuff. Have we decided this is the last hurrah? If so, are we just skipping/auto recruiting? If it's the last run, I'd also play anybody and everybody in non-con. |

I can guarantee that this is the last season that I'm going to commish/play. I'd be glad to turn over the league to someone else after this season if they wish to continue it.
I'll get default schedules posted for all of the teams in the next hour or so. |

How does the preseason recruiting work? Do we just suggest people we'd like to play? Or do I do it? I'm open for playing any humans...though I'd prefer it earlier in the season if possible before I go back to work. Things will get harder for me starting August 17.
If we get to pick non-conference opponents for the computer, I know I'd like a rematch with Florida. Wouldn't mind playing any of the following: Michigan, Louisville, Purdue, or USC. Also, which Miami do I play? If it's the U, I'll keep them. |

I have to enter in the schedules. You talk to someone here either in this thread or via PM to discuss a game on a mutual date that is listed above. Once you are in agreement, post here and I'll add it to the schedule. And yes, you are currently scheduled against the Hurricanes.

Also, it is first come, first serve on who gets any of the CPU teams, so just let me know and if they aren't blocked on that date, I'll add them.

I'd love to have a rematch with Colorado and a chance to play the commish one time. I'd rather only have one of those be a road game, but if I have to play them both on the road, then so be it. Please post in the thread ASAP so we can get this figured out before the deadline.
I'd only like to play 2 humans because I need to play my rival Louisville & I'd really like to beat the crap out of Michigan. Any human that thinks they're above average should seriously play some of the tough AI teams from non-human conferences like Ohio State, Michigan, West Virginia, Notre Dame, and even USC (since we're down to 1 Pac-10 human). I think I'm going to play Michigan and some other good AI team. Screw Louisville. Is it a true rivalry if they've never stayed within 40 points of me? I hope we can come to a consensus about this being our last season. I don't even know when the servers are going to come down...but I think with Madden only 17 days away and NCAA 10 already out, it's going to get tougher & tougher to keep this league going. I'm voting that this is our last season (plus it will save time when people don't have to recruit). |

Okay, then I'll open it up to anyone that would like to play me a human game during the first 4 weeks of the season. On the road, home, it doesn't matter.
For non-conference, I'd like a rematch with Florida for week 1 (if a human doesn't play me) After that, I too would like to beat up on Louisville (hate them) and Michigan (any week 2-4 or 14-15). Wouldn't mind playing Purdue or USC either (same weeks, 2-4, 14-15) though it shouldn't come down to them. |

dola - I've already stated this will be my last season. I'll be into NCAA and Madden 10, and with work back on, I'll be good to keep offline dynasties going. Hoping to join an online league late fall/early winter once the babies are sleeping through the night (one is close, the other is a being a booger about it!)
