FOOL-X 1964 Trade Block
Well, Boston is in trouble with $72.4mil in salaries, so we need to cut at least $7.4 million. So, without further ado, star players available:
SS Mario Moto, 36-yo perennial all-star, is set to make $12.5mil this season. SP Jose Hernandez, 33 years old, set to make $9.1mil per for the next 3 seasons. Had a bad year last year when I attempted a 4 pitcher rotation and worked these guys too much. LF Jose Espinoza, 37 years old, set to make $9.0mil per for the next 2 seasons. I need to cut salary, so I'll take young minor-leaguers and/or prospects, any position but want them to have a shot at playing in the majors. I'm not looking for studs in return for these guys, just something. Will need to fix this before I leave work today, so get back to me quick.

Ya...London's in a pickle too....
The new arbitraion system makes guessing what your cap hit is going to be difficult. So if you have any idea to help me shed payroll send me an offer...I wont list players as basically EVERYONE is available if they are costing me money.

Well, 2 years ago they were all worth every penny.
What burned me this year was a bunch of young guys hit arbitration age and went from $100K to the $1-$2 million range. I'd rather get rid of one stud than 4 or 5 solid starters.

What burned me was guys like Rooke whose arb estimate was $3mil (which is still high for a guy with 6/8/5/7 ratings) and then getting awarded $4.8!! Another guy had a $1.5 estimate and he got $3mil....it's hard to budget

Well I'm in the same boat. The surf have 1B Bruce Thurman available, only one year left and expected to be type B. Just looking for a decent spec. Has put up decent numbers with .280, 20, 80.

Virginia Beach Surf also have a SP available. Looking to move Wan-Fang Zhao. Only 4 Mil contract won't take much for him either. Looking to make a quick deal. Let me know.

The Bishops are shopping all-stud SP Henock Thuku.
Does his name sound familiar? Well it should. He is the two-time reigning CL Pitcher of the Year. My cash strapped days are over, so i am not giving him away. But since I wont be a contender this year I am shopping all 30+ players. Thuku is only 32 so he has MANY years left and he is coming off a Triple Crown winning season were he went 25-8 with a 2.76era and 282 k's. Let me know what you are thinking!

I'm not sure when the trade deadline is. I am negotiating a deal trading Thuku and I am just wondering if it is too late or not.

I think we informally have extended it to the start of the regular season in FOOL, so same can apply here. I should one day officially update that in the rulebook though. Just make sure instructions are sent via PM on what to do with the player is all. And I need it confirmed by both owners prior to 5am ET tomorrow morning obviously. |
