The computer clearly wanted Iowa to win, as it repeatedly screwed us. The most blatant instance was when Iowa missed a field goal, our guy caught the kick, and returned it to around the 30. The refs decided to award the ball back to Iowa after that... (I guess this is a known glitch). Anyhow, they quickly scored a TD after that to go up 14-0 in the first quarter. A 35-point second quarter put us up by 14, and from there we basically traded scores. Lotsa defenders bouncing off of their runningback in this one. Final was something like 63-49, IU. Nyah, computer! I won anyway!

PSU visited Northwestern today in what might as well have been an exhibition based on how the the Cats played. This game was over in the first quarter. The score was 56-10 at halftime, and 91-13 in the third quarter. I felt dirty getting any higher than 91 points, so I punted a couple times from inside the 5, but it could have been much, much, much worse. We racked up around 600 offensive yards and returned several punts/kicks for TD's without breaking a sweat. Our backup HB (starter is still hurt) racked up around 250 yards on the ground.

I wasn't last but close to it. Been a crazy week, I'll be faster next week.
Our up and down season had an up this week against undefeated No. 15 Nebraska. We fell down 14-0 and 21-7 at halftime. Our backup QB struggled in the first half so in the second quarter we moved to our third-string QB. All he did was throw for 400 plus yards and four TDs while rallying for a 42-35 victory. Woo-hoo! |
