Royal Pains

Turned on USA to watch Burn Notice (which was a good first episode of the new season, BTW), and left it on for Royal Pains, as I don't really do my channel flipping.

Have to admit, I enjoyed this new show. Funny and interesting, and different (which is odd to say, because I was expecting the usual medical drama borefest in a new setting).

I don't know if they're showing replays of the first episode, but I recommend checking it out.

My main concern is to see if they can keep the premise going, because I can see the stories getting skimpy.

Guess I went in with opposite expectations. USA has a strong lineup and I like Mark Feurstein so I was optimistic.

But I have no idea where they go from here. The premise seems very skimpy and the supporting cast is weak. I didn't think it was horrible but I doubt I'll watch again. I can see this getting very repetitive.

I thought the show was very good. I like Hankmeds brother. The PA is kind of weak and they tried to set up a story for he with that phone call. But I agree with you guys that this show will get repetitive, unless they have some seriously good writers.

hot high-society chicks could keep it alive for a while though. as could "cool toys".

they're definately trying to set him up as a mcgyver-doctor type which i think is cool (if a little heavy-handed), and they're trying to give him internal conflict with himself as well as a backstory. it could be okay. it could also be really repetitive.
