So, How's Saddam doing?
Okay, here's my first attempt at a poll in spite of some hatred for them.
It's now over a week and a half since the Wednesday night bombing that targetted what intelligence sources thought to be Saddam's location. Rumors have gone back and forth, but nothing has yet been confirmed. LINK At this point in time, what do you think is the status of Saddam Hussein? |

Well, he was supposed to give a live address to the Iraqi people today. It ended up being a written statement read by the minister of information.
I think he's incapacitated at least, but not dead.

If he were dead, I think we'd have seen a power struggle among his goons, with some killing of one another. I think he's injured.

I think he's dead. It's been too long since the beginning of the war for him not to have made a real live appearance. And I doubt there'd be a power struggle. If there were a power struggle, the people fighting for the power would have to admit that they got Saddam. Once that happens, and the power struggle begins, the populace rises up in revolt....and the generals knwo that.
The only way to keep the populace in fear is the illusion that Saddam is still alive. |

I think I mentioned this elsewhere. The other option is that he's alive and not hurt that badly, but scared to death because he WAS in that bunker that night. In this scenario, he's thinking "if I show myself, they might be able to find me again."

He's probably injured. I doubt he's dead, but I don't think he's unharmed.

I think he's injured. If they can't hide the injuries for a live appearance, than showing him that way would be just as bad as admitting he's dead. That, and I don't think they want to give any clues as to where he is, is probably why he hasn't been shown.
Speaking of which, when other "leaders" in the government show themselves on TV and we know where they are, why aren't we taking them out? Is someone like Aziz or the VP that keeps making statements not so crucial that we wouldn't want them dead or captured?

Actually, it's a little known secret, but Saddam has been dead since 1983. He's still with us today though, courtesy of the miracle that is Animatronics. ![]()

At this point I think he's either dead or he's split the city. There are reports he may have left Baghdad some time ago (Debkafile has him going to Syria) and is just waiting for all his stupid cronies to fight to the last drop of THEIR blood at which point he'll live a nice retired life (off the billions he's siphoned from Iraq) somewhere in Syria. If the case this may very well lead us into Syria and the next war, which IMHO would not necessarily be a bad thing.
