I was at the doubleheader yesterday. First time I'd seen Bemidji State all season (or forever, for that matter). They seemed in over their head against Miami, which was bigger and faster. Miami really has its work cut out for it against BU, though - the caliber of play in the BU/Vermont game was head and shoulders above the first game. Very exciting. Great sell-out crowd, too.

How did Bonino do? Looking forward to seeing him with the Ducks eventually.

Nick has been solid the latter half of the season. In fact Colin Wilson really cooled off near the end of the season and it was Bonino who really held things together offensively. I'm not positive, but I think he'll stay all four years at BU, he still has some things to work on, but I really like the kid.

Yeah, there's been talk that Bob Murray would have a chat with Bonino about possibly leaving after this season, but no word on how that went or if it happened (yet).

Good to hear he's doing well. Regardless, I don't see him helping us right away, so whatever is best for his development, I am down for.

I just realized I forgot the classic story...

Never had a jersey of any player for fear of jinxing. Wife's parents get me a Carson Palmer Jersey for Christmas before they play the Steelers in the playoffs. For fear of the jinx, I purposely do not wear the thing...knowing if I do, he will get injured. Unfortunately, just having it in the house was enough. Suffice to say, the jersey is no longer in my possession.

it's cool though. one of my good friends from HS went to BU. And so did the girl I used to work with. So aside from good-natured hockey-ribbing I got no issues with BU.

Wait, DT is rooting for a team from Ohio over a team from Boston? This is not right.

ya know i was very conflicted because of that very fact. actually it was a case of "i'd rather the earth opened up and swallowed both teams so the game never got finished"

At least Miami is in good company with Greg Norman at the Masters in '86 and '96, also from '86 the Red Sox, van de Velde in the '89 British Open, 1993 Houston Oilers, and the 2004 Yankees.

BU was clearly the best team in college hockey this year (and possibly the best HE team since Kariya/Pellerin Maine), and they are the one of the Big 4 I actually like/respect the most. I would have loved the Cinderella story if it had been Bemidji St or Air Force to pull it off, but Miami (O) just wasn't enough of an oddball/underdog to make it worth rooting for a clearly inferior team to win. Plus that ending minute was just epic and ridiculous enough to match the rest of this crazy tournament.

So... congrats BU (PS - I can't wait until we light up an exposed Millan next year )

For a team that was supposed to be that good, I'm not sure how they were dominated to easily then. Other than the first ten minutes of the game and the last minute, Miami won every aspect of that game. They lost only because they a) couldn't score a power play goal and b) couldn't score an empty net goal. Very sad.
