New Laptop Help

I looking for a fairly inexpensive laptop. I'd like to keep it under $750.

Most intensive thing I would do is play OOTPX on it. Other then that surfing to simple sites and itunes is about it.

I've heard good things about newegg.

Anyone have any suggestions, know of any deals or have a better site?

You could check out Dell...their Studio line is pretty good, from what I see. Coupons aplenty, too.

Also go to www.laptopmag.com or Product reviews and prices, software downloads, and tech news - CNET for comparisons.

You can also check out Slickdeals.net - The best coupons, lowest prices, and hottest deals. for some good deals (I believe there's a Lenovo ultraportable on there for a really big sale...if you're patient, there will likely be a few good deals on laptops this week).

Oh, the result of those links are interesting. I didn't type the CNET or SD taglines. Just found it interesting.

I had heard Dell was having backlog/delay issues. Was that only a commercial not a retail problem?

My mom's Dell desktop was delayed by a couple weeks, so I don't think it was even just a retail laptop issue. This was a late January order.

Just to kind of update the backlog/delay...I ordered a Studio XPS 16 on Sunday...looks like it's going to ship tomorrow, and I should receive it Monday or Tuesday. I am definitely looking forward to the 256GB SSD...

Anyway, according to many posters at notebookreview.com, the build/ship times are doing quite well right now. My original estimated delivery date was April 20th, but that was the case for many people who order...then it delivers within 7-10 days.
