Interesting news yesterday concerning this game. Sony Computer Entertainment will now be the publisher of this game. It will come out exclusively for the PS3/PS2 with a possible (unconfirmed) release for the PSP and 360 6-12 months after that.

Sony grabs Ghostbusters from Atari News // PS3 /// Eurogamer - Games Reviews, News and More

One wonders if Atari may become a publishing arm for Sony moving forward. Certain the Phil Harrison connection won't hurt.

Interesting. The latest issue of OXM had an article about that game.

I noticed that as well. The licensing fees on the game were pretty high. I'm guessing that Atari is looking for a way to mitigate some of those costs by allowing SCE to publish the game.

One thing that is odd is the mention of a possible later date of release for the game on the 360. I can't see any way that SCE publishes a game on the 360. They'd likely have to work out a separate deal to publish on that console if it ever comes to pass.

Eh, haven't seen anything about this anywhere else. What happens to the completely separate Wii version of the game?

OK found the answer: Wii and DS releases in North America are unaffected and still being published by Atari:

Nintendo World Report - News Article: Wii & DS Versions of Ghostbusters Delayed in Europe and Australia
Nintendo console owners in PAL territories will have to wait until later this year to enjoy the new Ghostbusters videogame.

It was revealed today that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe will have exclusive rights to publish Ghostbusters: The Video Game on its original release date of June 19 in Europe and Australia. MCV confirmed that Atari stills plans on publishing the Wii and DS iterations of Ghostbusters in the PAL regions, but that they will unfortunately not arrive until a later, yet to be announced, date.
The release of Ghostbusters in North America has been unaffected. On June 16, Wii and DS owners will have the opportunity to pick up the Atari-published game.

That game isn't a system seller so I'd imagine they'll look to maximize their profit across all consoles at some point.
