What are your favorite current comic strips?

The Opus thread got me thinking and I didn't want to threadjack but we know the older classic strips like Bloom County and Calvin & Hobbes and Far Side -- but what are the strips that are around now that you like?

I love Pearls Before Swine (the crocociles rock!) and Sherman's Lagoon. Liked Fox Trot when it first came out but it seems to be coasting now.

I like the three you mentioned, and Get Fuzzy.

And Dilbert (if that's newer).

I pretty much exclusively read online strips. I don't touch a print paper much these days.

My top two are:

Applegeeks Lite
Real Life Comics

There are a lot of other good ones, but I have fallen out of keeping up with them.

My favorite is Frazz, but our newspaper doesn't carry it. I ordered 1 or 2 books from the internet awhile back and they were amazing.

Otherwise I like Dilbert, Pearls, Get Fuzzy, and maybe Tundra? I have about 5 that I read whenever I happen across the comics, but none of them make me want to specifically make sure I read them like Calvin & Hobbes did back in the day.

I also agree on Fox Trot, it was great the first few years, but appears to be on autopilot at this point.

For what it's worth, comics.com has, like, the last seven years' worth of Frazz strips available for reading online. Nearly 8 years' worth of Get Fuzzy. I don't know how long the artists have been drawing those strips, but that's a hell of a change from the "previous 30 days" they used to do.

Zits is a good one, I forgot about that. I haven't seen Frazz, will have to check that out.

Of the traditional newspaper comics, I like Fox Trot, Sherman's Lagoon, Doonsebury, The Duplex and Dilbert.

I used to like Get Fuzzy (the one with the dog reacting to seeing a bottle cap that says "you are not a winner" was a classic) but it's gone off the rails for me lately.

Get Fuzzy and Bizarro are my favorite print ones. I read a ton of online comics now though that are good...including...Penny Arcade, Ctrl+Alt+Del, PVP, Cyanide and Happiness, Saturday Morning Breakfast Club, White Ninja, Dr. McNinja, Questionable Content, XKCD, Toothpaste for Dinner....just to name a few

Shows how we can be very different here. It's great to see others picking one of my three but I would put Get Fuzzy in my bottom 3 of least favorites. Go figure.

I don't really know about non-online comics anymore. Online I like:

Get Your War On (also available in video form from hilarious 236.com)
Dinosaur Comics
Cyanide and Happiness
Pixel Pals (although I don't think it's been updated in a while)

I should add that for online strips, I've really enjoyed the first 125-or-so strips of Order of the Stick. I also noticed that it is out in book format now too, so that's awesome.

Oh wait, I forgot to mention Megatokyo, probably because I've fallen behind on it.

Pearls is hands down the funniest strip in history. Bloom County comes close but no tthat close. Far Side remains king of the one panel comic, but I think Pearls may even top that. I absolutely love the pun ones where Rat goes and gets pissy with Stephan Pastis in the last panel. And I like it when the Family Circle kids show up, all grubbed out and a mess.

After Pearls, there of course is Dilbert. I still think Garfield and Shoe can be funny (especially Shoe as I get older).

Cow and Boy is hit or miss, as is Bob the Squirrel. Brewster Rockit is also one of my faves lately.

And Foxtrot is coasting, the guy retired and he only does Sunday now, and I read those are in the can months in advance.

Sorry, there is no way that Pearls tops Calvin & Hobbes.

I realised while flipping through the comics today that Born Loser is one I look forward to, but it is only a once-a-week entry in my paper.
