TV Season 2008-09. What are you watching/DVRing?

Here's my schedule. Always looking for new stuff to DVR, interested as to what others are watching.

Sunday-
Football(duh), usually record and watch Dexter/Californication

Monday-
Never home for football, DVR Sarah Connor, Prisonbreak, CSI:Miami

Tues-
nothing

Wed-
Nothing, keep forgetting to DVR South Park

Thurs-
The Office, CSI:CSI

Friday-
Nothing. Is Numb3rs still on? It was always kind of neat throwaway stuff.

Saturday-
Nothing

House sometimes. ER, because it's the last season. Survivor sometimes. I'll watch Lost when it comes back. Probably 24 too, but if the first few episodes are bad I'm done with that show. And lots of sports.

Sunday- Football, Simpsons (For my daughter. I haven't watched in a long time), Desperate Housewives

Monday- Chuck (Awesome), Heroes, Boston Legal (not many episodes left. I'm going to miss this show bad)

Tuesday- Nothing

Wenesday- Til Death (Not nearly as funny as it used to be. They just about completely wrote out the best character, Steph, and brought in an annoying friend)

Thursday- My name is Earl, 30 Rock, The Office, ER (also gave Kath and Kim a try, but it isn't great)

Friday- Zilch

Saturday- College Football, SNL

The only thing I watch live is football. This is down a bunch from the amount of TV I used to watch. Less and less good shows. Not a single new show this season has been a keeper.

Oddly enough, I don't DVR Football. Sunday I usually watch football all day, and depending on who the Monday night game is, I will watch that life as well. I don't tend to watch more than 4-5 games a week, so no need to DVR anything else.

Sunday - True Blood

Monday - Chuck, Heroes, Prison Break

Tuesday - House, Fringe

Wednesday - Knight Rider

Thursday - Survivor, ER

Friday - nothing

Saturday - nothing

On a related note:

1. Anyone have an HD Tivo?

2. Anyone get their cable company to give them cable cards for said HD Tivo and how did that go?

3. Any chance Tivo will offer another chance to transfer a lifetime subscription again (I have a Series 1 box from 2002 that's still going strong).

well I don't have a DVR, so does a VCR count? Watch some, tape some

Sunday: Amazing Race, Brothers and Sisters, Football
Monday: Heroes, My Own Worst Enemy
Tuesday: NCIS, Fringe
Wednesday: CSI, Private Practice, Top Design
Thursday: Survivor, Grey's Anatomy, CSI, ER
Friday: Ghost Whisperer, Stargate Atlantis, Sanctuary, Dog Town
Saturday: Primeval, catch up on all I taped

Watched a couple episodes of Mentalist and Eleventh Hour, but neither is grabbing my interest much.

1. I do.

2. It went fine. Comcast would not let me physically handle the cable cards, but they did the installation and didn't have any trouble.

3. I don't know on that one.

As for what I'm watching, football, hockey, and a little college basketball. That's it. Not recording anything as I just can't bring myself to watch recorded sports (yuk yuk, I know I just called hockey a major sport). I watch a game to see what the final score is. If it's already happened, I'd just fast forward or look up the score online. I mean, I like sports, but the only reason I will sit and watch a live game is because I can't time travel.

Yet.

I'm a bit close to giving up on it too. It's quickly becoming formulatic. 3 episodes in (or 4? I may have missed one.) and still hardly anything on the main plot.

The best show this year so far has got to be Big Bang Theory. The guy that plays Sheldon (Jim Parsons) should get some Emmy votes.

I tried watching a few episodes and the comedy seems so forced. I think the writing is good but it seems like the delivery is so contrived.

the cable card basically turns your TIVO into a superior digital cable box with the digital programming options from your cable company(extra channels).

Another standout performer thus far is the guy who plays the scientist on Fringe.

Let’s see, what have I enjoyed and what have I been disappointed by.

Enjoyed
Chuck - has been great, and is probably a show I look forward to seeing the most. Although I am getting tired of the will-they-or-won’t-they stuff, but Chuck deserves to have a girl like Sarah!
How I Met Your Mother - Got off to a sort of slow start, but they nailed it this week.
Big Band Theory - I don’t like the current outcome of the relationship, honestly they should make Sheldon and the geek girl end up together, they hate enough each other.
Sarah Connor Chronicles - Been decently solid, nothing spectacular, but it’s been fun, too bad the ratings are dropping.
Entourage - Been solid since it started up, haven’t seen this week’s episode yet.
Eureka - Was a good first half of the season, glad to know there will be more episodes in the winter!
Fringe - The best new show of the season. The doctor is hilarious, and I like the content. Pacey even does a good job!
Smallville - I’ve been pretty happy with this, I do miss Lex though. I’m happy they are getting Clark and Lois to like each other now, that means more screen time for Erica Durance! There is talk they might do an season 9…
My Name is Earl - There have been a lot of funny laugh out loud things, but the episodes themselves have just been ok.
The Office - Must see TV at it’s finest, it’s one of the shows I can’t live without. Michael just needs to work it out with the HR girl!
Burn Notice - Just like Eureka, is on it’s mid season break, can’t wait for the winter to get more of the best spy show on TV!

Disappointed
Heroes - I haven’t watched this week’s episode yet, but so far this has been a steaming pile of crap lately, and I’m afraid I might end up dropping off my must watch list.

Hiatus
Pushing Daises - Haven’t watched the recording episodes we have yet.

Can’t Wait Till They Come Back
24 - BRING ME JACK BAUER! It’s been so long, I miss you Jack!
Lost - Is it January yet?

Sunday - True Blood, Mad Men

Monday - Chuck, How I Met Your Mother, Heroes, My Own Worst Enemy, Boston Legal (is it on Monday's now?)

Tuesday - House, Fringe

Wednesday - Pushing Daisies

Thursday - The Office, Life on Mars (so far), and (when it comes back) 30 Rock

Friday - Life

Sat & Sun football as well

On break right now, but I will be watching when it comes back: Burn Notice, Psych, Battlestar Galactica, Scrubs

Right now I have a bunch of Life and Boston Legal eps on DVR. I'll try to do the Life eps first. I end up, every year, having a ton of Boston Legal eps and end up deleting like half of them. I like the show, but I don't feel a need to watch it... which is kinda wierd.

I'm not liking the absence of Dirty Sexy Money from almost all of these lists. Makes me wonder if I'll get a season 3.

Heck yes. Although if Time Warner and LIN Comm. doesn't figure out their shit by then, I am going to be pissy...I don't want to have to watch this online.

And I got...

Heroes
Frank TV (giving it one last chance, after this past episode I don't think it will be on there much longer)
South Park
It's Always Sunny
Testees (trying this one out, meh after the first two episodes)
The Office

I usually have the "Animation Domination" block on my DVR as well, but with aforementioned Time Warner and LIN Comm. being stupid about FOX, I can't record them.

Kind of resurrecting this. Been watching the first season of 30 Rock on my 360 via Netflix, 30 Rock will now be added to the list of shows I DVR. Also on that list:

The Office
South Park
Top Chef
The Daily Show With Jon Stewart (only new episodes)

That's it for now. I keep meaning to give Chuck a whirl, we'll see if that gets added...but gotta get caught up on 30 Rock first.

I've decided that even though I missed the first half of Season 4 (didn't have cable at the time), I'm going to DVR the second half of Battlestar Galactica's Season 4 (the last episodes), starting on the 16th.

That's about it.
