HBO New Show Alert: Wrestling?
The Hollywood Reporter reported today that Norman Lear, creator of "All In the Family" and "The Jeffersons" among other immortal TV projects, will be teaming with HBO to produce "Everybody Hurts", a dramatic series set in the world of 1970s professional wrestling.
The series, which will be written by Aaron Blitzstein, who has written for a number of series including FX's The Riches and The Late Show with David Letterman. He also worked as a Vice President of marketing for Turner Broadcasting's World Championship Wrestling. "Everybody Hurts" will revolve around "a family running a pro-wrestling business in New York and peeks into the lives of the wrestlers and their fans" according to the article. Not sure what the chances of success really are but I'll watch for sure. |
