It's all fun and games until...

...you hijack $30 million of heavy weaponry on the high seas and the U.S. Navy shows up.

Somalia-based pirates have been in the news for a while, sort of low-level. This time, however, they may have bitten off more than they can chew.

When asked why the pirates needed $20 million to protect themselves from hunger, Mr. Sugule laughed and said, “Because we have a lot of men.”

LOL

I thought perhaps he'd use the line that it was needed to stabalise the areas financial institutions?

They didn't mention it in the story, but his name is Bob and his last job was the Iraqi Information Minister.

"All we wanted was money. Oh, that's illegal? Then we wanted to protect our fishing and ... something noble... We're patriots, not pirates. Spelling error, really. Heh, heh... We're just not very good at semaphore. ... Don't shoot."

When I have Pirates ask me for $20 million for food, I just buy food and bring it to them instead.

Probably my own fault for keeping a barrel of rum and a suspicious looking locked wooden chest in my car.
