Voted I was playing it, but I stopped. Moved on to NFL Head Coach 09. Might come back to Goalline Blitz in the future, but most of my free time right now is spent playing Head Coach.

I'm still playing. I have a level 25 TE on a pretty active non fof team. I haven't spent any money yet, but I might this year to boost some.

Game has followed the exact arc that I expected... I check in occasionally to allocate my guy's skill points, but that's it. Glad I never spent any money on it.

It's been probably the most fun I've had (playing a non-GDS game) in a while. The new training changes have been a big plus, have been the new options on gameplanning.

Still in it, the Admirals have held on to stay in the Canada Pro League and we are working to keep up there. This season our focus of staying on the steady course has helped us out.

I stopped because I can't play with my guys unless a human GM offers them a contract and I haven't found any offers thus far.

I've got a WR on IronHand's Berlin Blitzkrieg and a LB on Icy's Toledo Swords. Not sure if I'll put any more money into once my current flex points run out, but I'm enjoying being on two active teams.

My desire to avoid spending money revolves around the beta state. There are some huge gaping weaknesses in the engine: for example, QBs are looking for whichever receiver gets to the pass distance first, rather than checking off on who is open, which leads to really skewed target numbers. There are other big things they need to clean up before I'll drop money on it. It's interesting, but has a ways to go yet.

Like GrantDawg, I just started playing this recently, a few weeks ago. (I have a 11th level CB in some league.) I finally joined a team that seems pretty active. I enjoy it, but don't spend more than 15 minutes or so a day looking things over. Am I missing something? Is there more to it than that?

I haven't spent any money on it and wont.

Suprised so many are playing this - I dropped it quite some time ago after putting money into it because imo it was a steaming pile - has it changed much or are people finding a way to enjoy it despite the obvious issues?

I really don't think I follow it closely enough or am that engaged to have come to notice or realize all the "obvious issues" (which is probably another reason I haven't, and wont, spend money on this).

I'm still playing, on one of the FOFC teams.

My main problem with the game is not hte game itself, but the lack of interaction with others on my team. I joined a FOFC team for this very reason and have been disappointed.

The game can be a lot of fun if there are around 10 very active players on a team, exchanging on strategies, player development...

Rare indeed is the football game/league that you don't either a.) get kicked out of or b.) you don't quit due to your suckiness.

Exactly, that is why i'm still enjoying a lot both running my team with some fofcers and some really active members and being part of other active teams. When i sign a new contract with a new team i always ask them to let me take a look to their forum before signing my contract.

Conference movement has helped a lot with this, although the issue of abandoned teams still causes some problems. But the WEPL (where Berlin and Toledo are now) has a collection of VERY competitive teams in it right now.

I technically still have a player, but I barely check in at all. There's just not enough role playing there for me to play it as an RPG, and Wade's already touched on the all-too-frequent outlandish results that ruin it as a sim. Mix in the fact that my well-rounded lvl 31 DE has inexplicably and consistently failed to produce the way he should and I'm left to wonder: why bother?

I wonder if there is any way we can get you on Icy's team. Any interest in trying his team out before you completely give up?

They need a few more GM's. Nothing says "We are the best damn football team ever" than having 31 GM's on one team.

I'd certainly be up for giving it another try if Icy's willing to trade for me.

Icy, any thoughts? I bring loads of clubhouse chemistry with me wherever I go, if that helps.

Offer sent for your DE, send a pm to your owner saying that you want to move to a friend team, Toledo Swords, and that i have offered max cash for you. I'm afraid it's going to be hard as he has only you as backup DE.

The fact that when a team gets sold it loses all of it's players means there are going to be some hugely lopsided teams. CPU based teams, or human teams with CPU players are going to suck hard. In order to build a successful team you have to keep a team together and network enough to get the needed people on your team. Networking works the same way for a player as well. Agreed that the game is still going to take some time to hammer out stuff to make it better for balanced games though. My guess is some time next year it will hammer out a lot of it's issues to maybe remove the beta tag.

I lost interest when the team I was on managed to both win by 100 and lose by 100 in successive weeks.

That ain't football.

Berlin scored 277 points (abandoned team), but the code is apparently using bytes and can only show 255-0 everywhere

They already sent out a PM to players figuring out how to handle league restructuring and abandoned teams.

The new way they are doing fatigue has been rather significant. I almost feel sorry for anybody who starts and doesn't have solid Stamina. My level 4 guy is down to like 44 energy after two games and he's got 30 Stamina and he's a backup although he had the 3rd most plays on defense in our last game. My center had 30-35 Stamina as a starter last year and never went below 70+.
