NFL Week 3 Thread

True story: I have DirecTV but can't receive Local Channels in my area and can't get them off an off-air antenna. I called DirecTV and told them that I saw the banner at the top that said "Every Game Every Sunday". I told the rep that I wanted to watch the Packers/Cowboys game since it was the only game where two 2-0 teams would meet this week. He told me they were playing right now since the TV near him had the game on.

I turned on the TV and it was already on the NFL Channel. It was the NFC Championship game from 1995. Antonio Freeman, Chris Boniol, Emmitt Smith, Larry Allen, Reggie White, Gilbert Brown, Michael Irvin and Troy Aikman don't clue you in that this game is not live?

Ed Hocoli is much smaller back then, too....and they have some guy wearing #4 named Favre playing for the Packers....wasn't that at least a month ago?

I'm getting the Bears-Bucs in HD here and (thankfully) we have an affiliate carrying the Giants-Bungles.

Just Giants/Bungles at 1. Which is fine, as I have Eli and the Plax going.

Carson Palmer looks like a different player from even a year ago. I think mentally this guy is gone.

Anybody got AZ-WAS? I made a couple last minute gut-swaps (Favre for Hasselbeck and Portis instead of Julius Jones)...so, ummm, how does Portis look early?

Agreed, his confidence seems completely shattered. I would say that it goes back to the playoff game when Kimo (from the Steelers and I'm not even going to try and spell the last name) fell on his knee. He has put up numbers but I think he has looked like much less of a stud than he was and now, he just looks lost.

Johnnie Lee Higgins had a good runback on the Kickoff return to begin the game for the Raiders.

6 posessions in the Falcons-KC game. 6 punts. Ryan is 0-3, but two passes that should have been caught. The game is very boring so far.

No, you're fine, they were saying that Eli needs to use Boss. He hasn't caught any yet, which I think is the right amount since I have Plex.

Woo go go go..

Keep me up to date, I am reading along on my blackberry here so can't keep up with the Falcons today.

Where I'm at we get the Dolphins vs Patriots .. zzzzz

So far The Pats looked better, but then got an unfortunate ref call that seemed to destroy their momentum.. Cassell threw an interception and Dolphins drove down the field for the go ahead TD.

Okay it worked out since I forgot I dropped Boss and picked up Anthony Fasano... who I should've started maybe cuz he has 4 fantasy points already.

Cassel with -1 points so far, but the Dolphins are up 7-0! Yay!

Two more big runs, then a 30 yard roll out pass to Norwood. Hey, some one is actually moving the ball!

That looked like some old school SEC football there (except for the one direct snap to Norwood)

Yeah, that seems to be Mike Smith's SOP. I like it, as long we can get some blocking up front.

Ahhh, much appreciated! Yahoo's stat-tracker is running waaaaay behind today in a couple places and the Redskins-Cards game is one of them.

A little happy feet. He has completed maybe one pass, been sacked once or twice, and like I said earlier had two drops from open recievers.

That gives me one by each of my runners but I'm still a bit nervous at having sat Steven Jacobs and Julius Jones, particularly since we are PPR.

Hehe, I figured you would like that. I'm facing Manning so the only way I wouldn't have minded him throwing one is if it goes to Burress so if you want to root for that the rest of the way, I'm with you.

And all you Falcons lovers, quit rooting for Turner (and I'm in DeKalb, where he played his college ball!), put Norwood in!
