I'm not positive, but I wonder if he's the first to throw a no hitter at a neutral field.

He's the first to throw one at Miller Park, bwahahaha.

I was one of 23,441 fans there tonight. Unbelievable. The crowd started really getting into it from the 7th inning on. I was into it from the 4th inning on. I actually called it multiple times on my way down to the game. I was telling Dad and brothers that Z was going to throw a no hitter. Absolutely incredible.

Whoo! My voice is pretty much gone and I work a job where it's important to speak on the phone. Ohhh boy.

Great game to be at. I'm glad I picked up and took off for the field....

Nice to see Big Z is okay. If he and Harden are healthy in the playoffs I don't see anyone stopping the Cubs in the NL. The TV stations must be pretty psyched to have Chicago, New York and LA positioned for the playoffs.

You do realize you are speaking of the Cubs, right?

So... why Milwaukee? Nothing against the city, but why does Milwaukee suddenly become the default place to play a game if it cannot be played where scheduled? I couldn't have anything to do with the unbiased commissioner, could it?

Basically, I think what happened was Houston was whining about having the games elsewhere period (the first plan was St Louis, which Houston whined about), and finally the league just said hell with it and threw them there.

The Houston players may not be happy with the situation, but I'm sure their owner is happy with the check he will get from the game.

Congrats to Big Z, a true baseball character...

Scorer helped keep it alive to start the 7th - hard hit ball at Ramirez, who played it poorly. Runner safe at first.

I am still not sure how they can consider these home games for Houston. You can't honestly tell me there was no where else to play.

There was nowhere else to play.

All of the nearby stadiums were unavailable - Texas, Atlanta, Tampa, Florida, St. Louis - and the Astros owner didn't help himself by keeping the team in Houston on Friday on the 0.0001% chance they'd get a chance to play.

The Houston Astros can whine all they want, but it's their own fault.

Besides, as pointed out on Baseball Prospectus, most of the home-field advantage comes with batting last, and they had that.

Yeah, look, it's a bad break for the Astros and it's unfortunate (especially given how sizzling hot they were), but there was really no way to make it fair. Mother nature got in the way. What can you do? I'm a New Orleanian -- we lost our NFL and NBA teams for a total of THREE SEASONS. Cry me a river, Astros.

Touche - and that is a good point about batting last being a big thing, and in baseball that makes sense. But man, the Cubbies fans were out in full force for sure and that had to take a toll mentally.

I'm pretty sure the Cubs fan did not leave Houston hitless for the first 15 innings.

Besides Chicago, what other stadium would give the Astros as much revenue for an emergency 2-game set? You don't think Drayton didn't take that in to consideration, do you?

I keep seeing this thread; the poor guy has been an out away from a no hitter for two days now. Must be one hell of a rain delay.

Sorry, that made me laugh. It's not even like he got through a few more batters before he give up the first hit after that post. The very next one.

Sad, ain't it.

I was even thinking as I posted, "you know, I hope I don't jinx this by posting".
