Bros and Hoes! A BROOM BALL DYNASTY

Last week I joined a rec league broom ball team with a few of my friends. The most experience that any of us have is two games, so it should be ugly. We are going to play games on Monday nights. This dynasty will be keeping track of how much we lose are games by, as we won’t be winning much.

Our team is called Bros and Hoes.

For those that don’t know, Broom Ball is just like hockey but you play in tennis shoes, and you use a rubber broom like stick instead of a hockey stick. The ball is as hard and a little bit bigger than a softball.

Tucker! Omigosh, I LOVE broom ball! The college I went to had about 1100 students and 800+ of them played intramural broomball every year. We had a 5 game regular season, and only those who won at least 2, but usually 3, made it into the 64-team tournament to determine the champion. My team made it to the elite-8 one year and final four another year.

Though I think comparing the ball to a softball does a bit of a disservice, it has more give than a softball and is significantly lighter.

Good luck!

A few more rules -

- 5 people on the ice, 2 of them must be girls
- If a girl scores it counts as two, one for guys
- We play three fifteen minute periods

By the way, thanks revrew! As you'll soon find out, our team really sucks.

We ended playing a double header tonight

in game 1-

We lost 6-3. We had tons of good chances, but we were never able to convert them until much later in the game. We were two pretty evenly matched teams, the one difference being that one of their players was really good, as he scored 4 goals and had 2 assists. The highlight of the match happened when there were 30 seconds left in the game, Chas Wilson(one of my friends on my team) got checked against the boards(which isn't allowed in our league) by the really good kid, as the kid turned around, Chas stuck out his stick and tripped him, causing the kid to go flying, and also causing Chas to get kicked out of the game.

Our goals were by-
Chas Wilson

Game 2-

The first five minutes of this game summed it up:
14:40 - goal by girl on other team (2-0)
14:00 - goal by girl on other team (4-0)
13:30 - goal by guy on other team (5-0)
12:45 - goal by girl on other team (7-0)
11:55 - goal by girl on other team (9-0)
11:00 - goal by guy on other team (10-0)
10:05 - goal by girl on other team (12-0)

The final score ended up being about 20-0. It was completely unfair, as every single person on their team was either out of college or in college.

Lets just say the game was ugly.
