The "new" 90210
Did anyone watch it last night? Thoughts?
My first thought was that Kelly Taylor looked hot as hell. Brenda looked nasty! |

The main characters are new but they brought back some of the old ones. For instance, Kelly is a guidance counselor. Also her sister Erin Silver is in high school and Andrea's daughter, Hannah, had a part in it too. Last edited by Dr. Sak : 09-03-2008 at 07:57 AM. |

My wife really wanted to watch it last night, so I watched it with her while doing various Sim-league stuff. I caught bit and pieces of it, but didn't seem like something that would interest me too much. I'm assuming that means my wife will love it and I'll have to end up watching it alot.

I made it through about 10 minutes of it. They show "Hannah Zuckerman Vasquez" (dumb bitch should be blowing the sons of Iowa farmers right now) and the teacher makes a subtle little joke about how she looks like she's 30. Hahahahahahaha FUCK YOU and your stupid throwback references.

I thought it was interesting enough to watch again. I liked that Zuckerman reference. Kelly looked hot, except when they showed her walking to her car with that teacher. Her legs looked kinda off. But still not horrible.
Is it safe to assume Brandon and Kelly have that baby? |

When Kelly was talking to Brenda (who had an ugly gap tooth btw), she said something about getting a call from Brandon at 3am... and then a few scenes before, Kelly was talking to someone saying "he's fine, but he's asking a lot about you." I assumed she meant the kid is asking about Brandon, who called at 3am? I think if this lasts a season, the grandma will die at the end of the season. Oh yeah, I found the first episode way too predictable, but the second episode was a bit better. |

I'm fine with the general connections to the past...but the "here's a joke that everyone used to make about the show back then (Andrea being older than Carol Potter), so we'll just make it ourselves instead" annoyed me. It would've been a better reference if the blogger drowned in a tub or banged a Palm Springs masseuse. Last edited by Logan : 09-03-2008 at 09:48 AM. |

No thanks to the new 90210. The old 90210 was shit enough.

I almost wanted to give this a chance, because the Veronica Mars guy is doing this right? I loved that show.
I still couldn't do it though. |

This was quite possibly the worst show in the history of "network" TV (I use the parenthesis for the CW). I don't mean worst as in "I can't believe they did that", but worst in the "I can't believe the writing and acting is so bad." That they'll be promoting this during gossip girl makes me fear watching gossip girl live.

Thoughts:
*The lead girl isn't very interesting. *The lead guy is decent. *Ethan is an asshole. Why are we supposed to like him? *The bitch girl is overdoing it with the overacting. *The son of the porn producer thinks he's Adam Brody. He's not. *I did like Erin Silver. She's the most interesting of the teen characters. *Smart move in going after younger/more attractive parents. We never had to suffer Jim and Cindy getting it on (thank god). *Cool to see Kelly, Brenda, and Nat again. And it looks like we'll get Jackie next week. I bet all these random people that had recurring roles on 90210 are licking their chops right now.

I was saying with the hype they are giving Kelly's baby's daddy, anything short of Dylan coming back would be a disappointment. At least I heard his name for the next episode preview...

Thoughts:
*After 5 minutes of the first episode I changed the channel. Worst 5 minutes of television I've seen in a long, long time. I've been having difficulty doing basic math problems and remembering phone numbers and names ever since.

Any men that are watching this tripe, please make sure you look for your balls because at some point they have obviously been lost.

I am easily amused and end up watching and liking weird things. I know the show isn't good, but whatever.

Yes, because watching a show where you look at hot women isn't manly. Instead, you should be beating off to a random Vin Diesel action flick.

After what was said last night in the daddy's description, I am leaning more towards it is Brandons. |

Actually, I'm starting to wonder if the kid is Steve's. He would fit Kelly's description and the kid looks alot like him.
I do wish they'd stop with the pronoun game, though.

I thought the same thing with the blond hair. The one description that makes me think it is Brandons is that Kelly said it was someone who was gone from her life for awhile, he was away, came back, they had a one night stand, and he was gone. Brandon moved to DC when he "left".
Steve was married at the end of the original 90210 with his own kid. Maybe he got divorced, but I thought that would've been mentioned. |
