I'm not sure. McCain has totally lost his fucking mind, and Obama is a socialist, so I don't really....

I'm still spinning from the story about the dismissal of two Nebraska wrestlers for being in gay porn.

Are there really gay people at the University of Nebraska? Did Tommy Lee know that before he decided to go to school there?

Heh, and from the various politics threads it always seemed that Republicans might outnumber Democrats on this board. Maybe it's just the same two or three of them post a bunch or something.

Leaning towards McCain, but could be swayed somewhere else... mostly based on Veep pick by McCain (it'll show me what type of campaign and Presidency he'll run)

That poll I don't recall not to say that wasn't one or that the results were what you say they were. However the inference that this board is some liberal or democrat leaning place I can say that four years ago that most definitely wasn't my impression. I found this board to be overun by conservatives or at least Bushites and others voting for him. Now that few God fearing Bush supporters would dare stick there heads out for fear of being lambasted I guess the Obama (liberal/democrats) are more outspoken now there is little fear of being stoned in the towns square so to speak. I don't think I would have to remind anyone that four years ago in this country from a "real" freedom of speech to say what you think perspective things were quite differnt than today. And that is meant that now is better.YMMV

I've never thought the board leans liberal or conservative. We probably over represent libertarians, but that's typical on the internet. Otherwise I think FOFC is pretty well balanced ideologically.

I voted for Bush over Kerry in 2004, and I'd eagerly do so again today and again tomorrow, and that's coming from someone who doesn't like 90% of what Bush does. I think very few people who supported Bush on this board 4 years ago are hiding their heads.

And this board was never overrun with conservatives. A strong libertarian leaning plurality that maybe you thought were Republicans.

I have no idea what you're talking about here. I'm pretty sure we have the same pointless political pissing contests here (although less often because it seems everyone has hashed out their position multiple times by now and no ones changing anyones mind). As for people afraid to speak out in 2004? Really? (Besides, not that it matters much, but weren't you in Korea 4 years ago?)

I dunno - my impression is that this board is pretty Republican - that's probably because if I took a guess at the demographics, we have something like 95% white males here, the vastj majority of whom are in the 25+ age range - by definition, that group would be expected to lean Republican.

PS - I may be off - off the top of my head, us non-whiteys are myself, Necqua, Noop, SkyDog, GrantDawg, DarkCloud, and AnalBumCover -

Fail on so many levels.

Noop, my friend, if you going to be a lawyer, you got to learn to keep your knee-jerk reactions in check else you will have a very small clientele because everyone else has the wrong ilk.

As far as the board leanings, no one can accurately say because most judge others from their own political position on the spectrum but it does hearten me to hear the perception that there are too many libertarians here.

But according to the results of this poll so far, there are not enough. Sab said it best.
