Extremely Low Post Ratio

My registration date is July 2001, and so far I've blessed FOFC with 12, count 'em, 12 posts, for a stunningly lazy ratio of about 1.7 posts per year. For those long-time lurkers, has anyone registered before the new millennium and failed so far to accumulate a double-digit post total? Can anyone exceed my laziness?

We did an audit one time and found someone even lazier.

What I want to know is, did we ever determine from C-Town, How long to call?

I have a few more posts than you, but I registered on the day that the Sportplanet board began.

Hey, you're up to 15 posts now!

But you raise an interesting question....is the reason you don't post because of laziness, or is there something else that makes you refrain from posting? Perhaps you don't want too much traceability?

Let's see... 8 years divided by 18 posts... 2.25 posts per year. Nope, not even close.

Yep, that's the only cultural reference for "Evan" I could come up with, too.

In fact, there's a subheading on the "Evan" wikipedia page called "Popular culture references to the name Evan." The only entry? Evan Almighty.

So that does it: our brains are as resourceful as Wikipedia.

Maybe we're all just pawns in Evan's own little Truman Show. Evan decides to throw us a jbmagic, a Hornsmaniac or a Hell Atlantic every so often just to keep things interesting.

And Ajaxab's theory is thrown completely out the window.

Honestly, is FOFC important enough for anyone to involve it in a conspiracy?

I think I've got you beat. 4 posts, 7 years (0.57 per year). Of course, this post increases my total by 20%.

I've been around since the original version of FOF, still have that CD it in my closet in fact. I still check the board regularly, probably 5-6 times per month and read through a fair amount of stuff. Does that make me a lurker???

It doesn't make you a lurker, it makes you a king of self control. With some of the bunk that has come through here over the years, how did you not post, if only to tell someone off?

I used to know what it was like to lurk and post about never so often. Now I am just a faceless reveler mumbling incoherently. I think its because I post and run. I've been around in a couple different iterations (shanekorn, then this one) since the original board, back when it was around 3 or 4 hundred strong I think. 33% of my life I have been conversing with complete strangers about a text based football game and whatever else comes to mind. I remember when it was all about "on-topic" and "off-topic" posts and how that lead, ultimately, to this conglomeration.

If i remember well it took me a while to start to post besides a couple of questions about FOF. I was non confident enough about my English and for sure this board has helped me a lot to improve it, specially to learn the kind of phrases and turnarounds that are not written in the English courses. I have also learned a lot about the USA culture and way of thinking and it has helped me a lot in my business.

Now if we could have a voice chat with all the board members involved, i could practice my listening/spoken English that is way behind by writing/reading one

Edit: Though he's likely a gimmick account, so I don't know if that really counts in this context.

Herb?

Speaking of Herb, has anyone else gotten messages from him in the past offering to let you take over the Herb duties? I've gotten that at least twice, maybe more. Strange.

I have decided to offer the opportunity to be Herb to you, Kodos. You are funny and creatitive, and have been a member of the board since the beginning. I think that you would make a great Herb.

Let me know if you accept by return PM. If you do, I will PM you with the login information, and you are good to go. Feel free to be Herb for a long or as short a time as you like and pass it on to the next person (or stay Herb forever if you like it).

In short, if you accept, Herb will be in your hands. Do whatever you will with it. Don't feel constrained.

Of course, please do not mention this offer to anyone whether you accept or not. I'd like to keep the Herb thing a secret.

Yeah, I registered when I was 14/15, and at that time, as a kid, everyone seemed like a bunch of sophisticated grown-ups, who wanted Madden's Franchise Mode to work correctly even sacrificing the graphics.

I would have more posts than what I have now but I took off 3 months from this board. Alas, I missed it and came back, there is no substitute for the real thing. I often gaze dreamily into the night sky and wish I could have registered way back in the year 2000. Errr...I mean the year 2001.

I took that to mean that Julio has been here since inception (2000), and he's 27, so that's 9 years of his 27, or 33%... Yes, I know he registered in '01 but many people lurked before posting.
