Generation Kill - HBO - Starting Now

A couple of us have talked about it in other threads, but just a reminder that Generation Kill is starting RIGHT NOW on HBO here in the East. Hopefully we can use this thread to discuss. As a huge fan of "The Wire" I've been looking forward to this for awhile.

Funny, was just about to bump with a "I guess it's just me"...

Really liked it too. A lot more humor than I was expecting (Ziggy is the man - the Ripped Fuel-laced Marine for non-Wire watchers, and you really need to listen closely as a lot of the background comments are freakin hilarious). I suspect that will go away a bit as we transition from the build-up to the story, and I really can't wait either. Again for non-Wire fans, this is how Simon and Burns started each fantastic season of the Wire so I'm confident my high hopes will be filled.

Couple links that discuss real Marines reactions to the first two episodes.

I watched it last night. I always give HBO shows a free pass for the first 3-4 episodes. Too soon to tell if this is a winner but so far, so good.

Nice to see Beecher from OZ getting some work.

You're right...but I expect this one to be picked up a bit quicker since it's only seven episodes.

Good first episode. Nothing grabbed me storywise, but it laid the foundation, and I was entertained throughout.
