OT: Hattrick official qualification thread

I don't know if anyone as started a similar thread, but as I was looking at Rexallsc's team page and saw he had a qualification match coming I thought it could be cool to have a list of all the FOFC team up for promotion.

If you're up for a qualification match or you'regetting promoted without qualifying, post it here. I'll try to keep it clean in a list at the top... Go, brag about it, it's your 15 minutes of fame!!!

FrogMan
PS: I got nothing to brag about, as I'm going down from div IV to div V...
=============================================
Here's the list we have so far. I know formatting might not be too nice, but I'm at work and I have not had too much time to devote to it. I'll touch it up tonight...

FOR PROMOTION IN USA
V.251 Else United (72189) (FOFC member: Rexallsc)
AT
IV.26 The Hoops (6th, 10pts, 26gf, 45ga)

V.222 Gasmasters (71955) (FOFC member: Fonzie) AT
IV.59 The Rolling Balls (5th, 24pts, 31gf, 29ga)

V.220 Rochester Roosters (71938) (FOFC member: dacman) AT
IV.7 Chivas Regals (6th, 17pts, 38gf, 37ga)

V.256 Los Alamitos Fury (72228) (FOFC member: heybrad) AT
IV.42 nkp765 (5th, 23pts, 35gf, 24ga)

V.230 goldurnears (72020) (FOFC member: robbgmaier) AT
IV.20 Restriction (5th, 21pts, 30gf, 24ga)

V.151 Hamas Mad Bombers (71389) (FOFC member: astralhaze) AT
IV.30 vorpal bunnies (5th, 21pts, 31gf, 25ga)

TO AVOID DEMOTION IN CANADA
V.93 Vancouver Hunters (1st, 33pts, 32gf, 12ga) AT
IV.61 Bbors (72020) (FOFC member: bbor)

FOFC team in bold. To find the matches, search for the FOFC team number. I've also included the stats for the opponents. Looking at it quickly, Rexallsc has the best chance of them...

I have one. D-V.251 Champ ElSe United v. D-IV team 'The Hoops'....

On paper, they have a much better squad. I'm tempted to throw the game, as I'm not sure I could hang in D-IV, but we shall see.

My Gasmasters of V.222 will be going up against IV.59's The Rolling Balls.

I'm of the same mind as rexalllsc - I probably should throw the game, as I'd be looking at certain relegation next season in D-IV. That said, I won't throw the game since I don't think I'll need to.

Plus I'd like to see how my team fares against a superior opponent.

I looked through my supporting teams and found one other qualification match for this weekend,

Dacman's Rochester Roosters play against Chivas Regals for the right to move to series IV.7.

Being totally new to this and having had nothing to do with it, I'm not taking any credit for any of this, but, the team I inherited, currently the Los Alamitos Fury, was #1 in v.256 and I play a qualification match against NKP765 this weekend.

I started in V.230 with 5 games to go and 4 points out of first. Rather than go with the crowd and build for the future, I decided my fans deserved a trophy, so I went out and bought 3 decent 30 yr old midfielders and went 3-1-1 to win the division, the last game being meaningless as I was already 4 points clear. I forget who my qualification match is against, because when I looked at their last match they has one more star per position than I did. I'm currently looking for some new young midfileders, and some cheap long term care plans for my old ones

Is there a consensus on this? Should I throw the game? Or do I get a fat payday if I win?

The "fat payday" that you're looking for will come next season in Division IV, in the form of more sponsorship money.

unfortunately I was not able to make a qualification match. Even though it seems like I can hang with alot of the teams on FOFC, I am in one of the tougher leagues. Maybe next year

bump, since I've updated the list. We have now 7 teams we can follow in tomorrow's qualifying matches.

I'll get back later and post some NSI ratings for all the teams. Should help us see who has a shot and who will struggle...

Don't feel too bad, my Ruskies went undefeated in the 11 matches after I took over the club (9 wins 2 draws 0 loses, beat the 1st place team in the last week of the season to force him into a qualification match), and I still finished 3rd.

By the way, Div V.13 must be one the toughest, if not THE toughest league in Div V. Turnover for all but the top 2 teams at some point this season, and now there are some very active owners. 4 teams with Supporter, pretty rare in Div V, I believe.

Okay, here's what I gathered in terms of NSI ratings for the last three games for all the qualification games involving a FOFC team...

Code:
week 12 - 13 - 14 ------------------- Else United (rexallsc) - 36 - 36 The Hoops 52 - 49 - 46 Gasmasters (Flatulon) 40 - 41 - 40 The Rolling Balls 50 - 48 - 53 Rochester Roosters (dacman) 39 - 40 - 39 Chivas Regals 54 - 54 - 50 Los Alamitos Fury (heybrad) - - 22 nkp765 55 - 55 - 53 goldurnears (robbgmaier) 40 - 43 - 43 Restriction 58 - 57 - 61 Hamas Mad Bombers (astralhaze) 43 - 43 - 49 vorpal bunnies 56 - 49 - 51 Vancouver Hunters 27 - 33 - 30 Bbors (bbor) 42 - 42 - 41

To be noted, rexallsc got his team right before the league game of week 13 and hebrad got his team right before the league game of week 14. Looking at this, it will take a few lucky bounces for a FOFC team to be promoted this season. On the other hand, bbor shouldn't have too much problem remaining in div V, as the team he will face is considerably weaker and is also a "bot" team, winner of an "all-bot" division... Yep, we still have some all-bot division in Canada...

Later, FrogMan

The match is in progress, 3 minutes of the first half have been played.
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 11216 to The Hoops Arena. Hoops tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Corbalán - Lang, Dunstan, Matsuoka - Langset, Llorente, Hewlett, bin Ahmad, Landers - Vidal, Walton.

United tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Browning - Jean, Chance, Braxton - Tillman, Oneal, Diaz, Purdy, Walker - Marshall, Ridgeway.

Donny Vidal gave his Hoops the lead with 1 - 0, as he successfully challenged both the guests central defenders, then placed the ball unreachably at the goaltenders right post.

Wendell Oneal sailed high, high above the opponents as he headed the 1-1 in after a corner kick after 34 minutes of play.

My team just got relegated and I just learned about my new league, V.211 in Canada. Guess what, an all-bot league. Easy to spot them them in Canada. Every time you see a team with a mascot name of "Polar Dogs", "Timbermen", "Nordiques", "Mounties", "Polar Bears", or something similar lame name, they are almost always a bot team.

My new league has 2 Polar Dogs, 2 Nordiques, 1 Mounties, 1 Timbermen, and 1 Polar Bears. They'll now have to face some Pittbulls. I can't shoot for anything other than a promotion in 14 weeks!!!

Next up: a quick update of all teh promotion games currently going on.

Quick roundup of today's action...

Bbors won their relegation match 3-0 in Canada. Congratulations!!!

In the other games in the US:

Else United (rexallsc) down 3-1 after 54 minutes.
Gasmasters (Fonzie) down 3-0 after 56 minutes
Rochester Roosters (dacman) down 2-0 after 56 minutes
Los Alamitos Fury (heybrad) down 6-1 after 58 minutes
goldurnears (robbgmaier) down 2-0 after 60 minutes
Hamas Mad Bombers (astralhaze) down 3-2 after 59 minutes

Tough day for FOFCer trying to get a promotion. Good to note though that Hamas Mad Bombers were tied at 2-2 at some point at the beginning of the second half...

Good luck evryone for the rest of your games!

from Hamas Mad Bombers' game:

After an industrious effort down the middle Rizwan ibn`Isam could have closed the game off in the 73rd minute, but his finishing shot hit the post. Garrett Croft has the wonderful ability to create chances out of thin air. In the75:th minute he drove a bicycle kick straight past the keeper, resulting in the 3 - 3 goal.

Hamas Mad Bombers now tied a 3-3 after 75 minutes!!!!

UG. My best player, 19 year-old wunderkid Wendell O'Neal leading goal scorer in the league (already scored a goal in this game, too), got hurt!

In the to 68:th minute a very unfortunate collision in the home teams penalty area led to United´s Wendell Oneal being carried off the pitch

Damn shame.

One bright spot, 17 year-old Lorenzo Walker (just got him on a transfer today ): With clinical precision the cross pass from winger Edmund Tillman found it's way to Lorenzo Walker's head, and a screaming header gave United

Final scores:

Else United (rexallsc) lost 5-2.
Gasmasters (Fonzie) lost 6-0.
Rochester Roosters (dacman) lost 4-0.
Los Alamitos Fury (heybrad) lost 9-1.
goldurnears (robbgmaier) lost 4-1
Hamas Mad Bombers (astralhaze) lost 4-3

Hamas Mad Bombers were really the closest to promotion. For all the others, better luck next year.

Gotta say that heybrad got his team only on March 14, had only played one league game before today, so his score was almost expected...

For those interested, here's what the schedule for next season will be. It factors in what place you ended at least season. Home & Aways are NOT 100% accurate, but this'll give you an idea.

1 vs. 2 3 vs. 4 5 vs. 6 7 vs. 8
6 vs. 1 8 vs. 3 2 vs. 7 4 vs. 5
3 vs. 2 5 vs. 8 6 vs. 4 7 vs. 1
1 vs. 4 8 vs. 6 2 vs. 5 7 vs. 3
3 vs. 1 5 vs. 7 6 vs. 2 4 vs. 8
1 vs. 8 3 vs. 5 2 vs. 4 7 vs. 6
5 vs. 1 6 vs. 3 8 vs. 2 4 vs. 7
1 vs. 5 3 vs. 6 2 vs. 8 7 vs. 4
8 vs. 1 5 vs. 3 4 vs. 2 6 vs. 7
1 vs. 3 7 vs. 5 2 vs. 6 8 vs. 4
4 vs. 1 6 vs. 7 5 vs. 2 3 vs. 7
2 vs. 3 8 vs. 5 4 vs. 6 1 vs. 7
1 vs. 6 3 vs. 8 7 vs. 2 5 vs. 4
2 vs. 1 4 vs. 3 6 vs. 5 8 vs. 7

(edit: Of course, by the time you figure out who you play, the series schedule will already be done. It's already updating.)

Damn...i never realized it would be that hard to win a Qualification game...i figured at least 1 FOFC team would get promoted

All that means is we have to try harder for next season....FOFC shall rule Hattie

Good luck everyone in the next season.

Oh my.

A 6-0 loss is rough enough, but to lose while playing MOTS, having a starting forward red carded early on, and losing a starting midfielder to injury for 6 weeks is an uncalled for kick in the teeth.

And, of course, my team's spirit is now "murderous." I was planning to correct that by using some of the qual. match proceeds to buy a new coach, as I'm just now getting out of debt. But...the final insult is that I only got $20k of spectator income. My stupid jerk opponent only had a 9000 seat arena!

Truth be told, though, I'm kind of glad I didn't win as I don't think my team is ready for Div.IV (a hypothesis which seems to have been supported by today's loss). I just wish it hadn't been quite so painful.

Dude, don't fret about your team spirit, it'll get reset before the beginning of the new season.

Later, FrogMan.

i had a qualification match to avoid the drop and won 4-1 !!!

i am surprised i get to stay in div 4 heck this was a last place team when i took it over mid season (and i am not in debt anymore) It still will take alot of work to become a solid div 4 team though

Hey dude, CONGRATULATIONS !!! That's awesome!

Sorry we didn't hear about your team's qualification match before. It would have made my day to see one of us win on Sunday.

Congrats again!
