FOFC Sex Symbol Draft - picks thread

Let the games begin! The rules are discussed in the previous thread, FOFC Sex Symbol Draft.

Please make your picks by copying the below list and placing your selection next to the appropriate category. Bold your current selection and keep your selections through each round. I will also try to keep this thread up to date with current selections.

1. Celebrity Singer
2. Celebrity Actor
3. Celebrity No-Talent
4. Celebrity Athlete
5. Appeals to Younger Men
5. Appeals to Younger Women
7. Appeals to Older Men
8. Appeals to Older Women
9. Fictional (Literary)
10. Fictional (Theatrical)

Label your selection like so:

Celebrity no-talent, 1.1, jb magic

The selection order for the first round, determined by random.org, will be:

PurdueBrad
Radii
lordscarlet
wade moore
Surtt
Lathum
Mustang
bsak16
CU Tiger/KWhit
Izulde

This is a serpentine draft, so in the second round (and all even rounds) Scoobz will pick first, CU Tiger second, etc.

Notes:

No sex symbol may be selected twice. One way this might work is, picking Bart Simpson in the theatrical category would make Nancy Cartwright (the voice of Bart) ineligible. I will make the final decision on whether a pick is valid or not.

After you make your pick, please pm the next person on the list to remind them that they are up. I have lists from most participants, but I will give them a chance to make their own pick, unless they specifically tell me they won't be around.

With that, PurdueBrad is up!

Shia LeBouf is the FIRST PICK OVERALL in the "FOFC Sex Symbol Draft"?

This is a dark, dark day for this board...

I feel ashamed for each of my 9,007 posts to date.

I thought that category would have been relatively easy to fill (depending on what "Younger Women" meant) without needing a top pick (that seems iffy anyways). Seems like a bit of a reach here.

I'm not sure where else you would put her unless you try to be overly clever.

When my brother in law was a kid, they had their first Thanksgiving after Jedi came out, and they were all going around the table saying what they were thankful for that year, and, in complete kid innocence, he said, "I am thankful that I got to see Princess Leia's boobies."

Yeah, I hear you BUT my students have sworn to me that this is a very solid pick considering a lack of depth in that category. In fact, they had trouble coming up with more than three decent selections for the category.

And yeah, as for me, a HUGE Marilyn Monroe fan, it hurt not to select her.

Considered by many to be the classic beauty. This may be a stretch of a pick, but if you are talking about all-time sex-symbols I'm not sure if there is anyone higher in the rankings.

At the end of the draft, don't people here at FOFC vote on the winner based upon their opinions of the selections made?

If my understanding of the rules is correct, I contend that the FOFC voters wouldn't give a shit if you have Shia LeBouf or Larry the Cable Guy for that category.

.

I was definitely free in my definition of "sex-symbol". It all depends on how the voters define the term. If they define it as "viewed as a sex-symbol" vs. "I'd like to bone them" I'm in good shape. Sadly for me, I think there's a good chance they go for the latter.

I likely over-thought this one.

Yeah. It seems to me that we should have been required to pick more guys, actually. It's always good to make it as hard as possible on the drafters.

I think this is the draft with the least "obvious" early picks ever.

It's also the most free draft I remember, which I'm actually not a huge fan of - but it should be interesting.
