Washed my iPod
It was in my pants.
The warranty reads it doesn't cover water damage, but how exactly would they know it was that type of damage, couldn't I just say that it just stopped working? And yes, I realize I am an idiot. |

There is a sensor in them that turns a particular color when it comes in contact with water.

Ok. I will obviously wait and see.
The only thing that worries me is I still didn't even notice after a thorough wash, and only until I heard something clanging in the dryer after about 10 minutes did I go "oh shi". |

A couple months ago, my iPod fell in the toilet. I had the AppleCare extended warranty, and I didn't get a hassle about it. Just filled out a form on the website, got a box to send my old iPod back in a day and a half later, and had a new iPod by the end of the week.

Put it in the oven at 200 degrees for an hour. That will help it dry faster. I did this with a gameboy my son played with in the bathtub (no batteries) and it worked fine.

I found this out the hard way when my cell phone and I went swimming in Vegas last year. Under the battery, there is a small disc monted there that turns from white to dark pink when it gets wet. It is the first thing that sales folks are instructed to look at when getting an electronic gadget returned for breaking down. |

I washed my iPod once and it worked fine once I let it dry out for a few days. Battery life seems to have diminished, but it works.

Is it the traditional white, or did you end up getting one of the blacks?

So after a few days of half-heartedly pressing the power button hoping it'd turn on after countless days to dry and the "oven trick" to no avail, a lightbulb kicked on today. "What if it is just dead?" Well, yeah, it was. As soon as I plugged it into the charger it started charging and is working. I don't know if the battery is hurt, because it's still sitting on the charger but atleast I don't have to go buy a new one.
THANKS FOR EVERYONE'S REPLY |

My old girlfriend blew up an ipod nano by putting it her sports bra and jogging.
She didn't tell them that boobie-sweat was the culprit in its demise, but got a new one! |
