Weak Coffee or No Coffee?
A particulary weak cup in the office this morning got me thinking about this poll.

No doubt. The coffee sucks in the office I spend most of my time. I'd rather make tea or go out for good coffee.

I voted no coffee at all, since I hate coffee and its awful stench.

If you add enough cream and sugar, weak coffee is bearable.
Sorry, misspoke. If you add enough cream and sugar, coffee is bearable. |

All coffee is weak. But, it will do.

I think I'm been thinking about trying to drink coffee. When I slam red bulls I'm much more alive in the morning and I think that helps friendliness as well... but coffee tastes like the bottom of a trash can to me. Should I dump buckets of cream in it?

Weak coffee is definitely better than no coffee at all. I usually drink it without any sugar or cream.

I'm going to vote weak coffee here, though with the caveat that it must actually taste like coffee. The swill they have at my office looks a little bit like coffee and smells a bit like it, but is weak beyond belief and tastes like dirty dishwater, so I refuse to drink it. I come into the office with a 24 oz thermal mug of coffee brewed at home and then switch to tea and water.

No coffee over weak coffee. There's nothing worse than weak coffee. Tastes like boiled water with brown food coloring.

Tastes like crap. But the fix is needed nonetheless.

+1. There's a Kenco coffee factory in Banbury, en route between me and my folks/hometown. I am the only non-coffee drinker in my family, and I am the only one who can smell the foul odour as I drive past. Truly nasty. I am 34 years old and have had 4 sips of coffee in my life: I have been physically sick instantaneously two of these times. I can taste if a cup of tea has been stirred with a spoon that has previously been used to stir a cup of coffee. The only answer to this queston for me is no coffee!

Good thing I qualified that with "American" since Jari is in the same boat, except that I actually like the smell of some brewed coffee.

I actually think Bucc is way off. I don't know any friend of mine that drinks coffee, ever. Maybe a girl every once and a while, or maybe it is just a post-college thing to pick up a consistency with.

I probably drink more coffee than JiMGa. Since I don't smoke, I just drink more coffee.

I don't drink much coffee anymore, but there were times when I was drinking quite a bit a day. And I love walking by the coffee section of the supermarket.

Never really liked the smell so I've never picked it up. Well, that's not really accurate- it smells good but it doesn't smell like something I'd want to drink

I've got a self-grinding espresso/coffee machine from DeLonghi, and I go through 2 pounds of beans every week to 10 days.

According to some strenuous research a pound of beans makes roughly 3.2 gallons of coffee, so call it 6.5 gallons for you. Lemme see here, that's 832 ounces or 83.2 ounces per day on the low end, 119 ounces on the high end. I think my pot is 72 ounces (12 cups X tinyass 6 oz cups). I drink the better part of 3 pots per day typically, so roughly 200 ounces per day here, call it 180 since there's occasionally pour outs of dead stuff.

Probably a bit less in volume for me then, because I usually start out the morning with three or four shots of espresso to get going.

i'm pretty sure that in my starbucks-working days I consumed more coffee than anybody on the board.
i've cut wayyyyyyy back now...to just 20 oz or so a day (40ish on the weekends). edit: and by coffee in my starbucks-working days I should say caffeine, because I never had time to sit and actually drink brewed coffee, so it was shots of espresso solely. now that I no longer work for the man i've switched to the brewed coffee and i'm down to 20-40oz a day Last edited by DaddyTorgo : 03-22-2008 at 01:26 PM. |

Had a couple sips of coffee, but that is it. I'd much rather have any type of tea over coffee.

I used up the last of my Cohibas at my cousin's wedding last fall. I might have to make a "run for the border" to pick up some more.
