The official championship week thread

I am surprised there isn't one started yet. I am shocked my beloved Giants have made it this far.

My predictions are

Pats 42- SD 24
Giants 17 GB 13

Giants are going to have to force Farve into making a few mistakes. I think they will do a good job containing Grant.

Personally I'm hoping for a Charger-Giant superbowl purely because of the draft history between the two QBs

Hoping for a Patriots-Giants Super Bowl. Would be great to see the good guys win in the AFC and bad guys lose in the NFC.

I don't get this whole "Rivers is going to start and play for as long as he can". It's like they're waiting for him to fail before they pull him. Giving yourself such a big margin of error when you're the underdog doesn't make sense.

Rivers strikes me as a guy who might not be upfront with the trainers, etc, at the expense of his team. All week it's been "I'm going to start".

Pats/Giants and Pats/Packers both have their charms, I've not hugely rooting for either match-up (other than the Pats winning, of course)

I don't care who wins in the AFC, but it'll probably be the Patriots. Packers-Patriots is the glamor matchup with Favre vs. Brady. They'll play up the good vs. evil angle with Favre on the last leg of his career leading the youngest team in the league against the unstoppable force. I'm anxious for the NFC game to start. Eli has been playing well lately, but the Packers defense is no joke. The Giants have a banged up secondary that I think Favre and his recievers will exploit. The injured Chargers have little hope, and I'm not expecting much from that game.

It's a balmy -1 at my house right now. I might have to break out the pool and go for a dip if this heat wave keeps up.

With the weather like it is in GB today, anything is possible. Frigid temperatures make for a great equalizer.

For anybody watching the pre-game show, why is Marmalard (Rivers) wearing a Texas Tech jacket? I can't even think of anyone on the Chargers who is a Red Raider alum.

It was a gift from Bobby Knight from when NC State traveled to Lubbock. Maybe Bobby is at the game.

Me neither. I wonder what kind of odds there are on him lasting the whole game.

Running into the kicker and roughing the kicker penalties are the most retarded penalties in all of sports history. Who cares if those pussies get hurt?

Boy, those announcers sure were excited after that pick. They just kept rambling on about nothing and basically said, "Oh, interception for Chargers."

Nice.

What was Rivers doing under his coat just after the Pats scored? Looked like he was jerking off or something?

Rivers does some boneheaded things, but hard not to admire how well he is playing through this injury right now.
