NFL Playoffs: Divisional Round

Did someone start one of these days ago and I didn't see it? If so screw off, your thread died.

So I started my day by going into the truck stop to have breakfast. I picked out the guy with a Terrell Owens jersey on, and sat down next to him with my Favre jersey on. We had a little fun talking crap to each other, though we both admitted it was all just to see who loses to the Patriots most likely.

From what I have been hearing all week, the Packers are the least favorite of the favorites. A bunch of people are picking the Seahawks in fact. I am hoping this is another case of people overestimating a team who won in the Wild Card round, as happens a lot.

Go Pack Go!

It's boring, but I see all four favorites winning. Indy will win by the biggest margin, GB will win by the smallest margin.

One of my favorite sports weekends of the year. More important than the Wild Card round and twice as many games as Championship weekend.

I have a bad feeling about the Pats/Jags game, though my head tells me the Pats will win easily.

What have you been reading? I don't think I've seen a single person pick the Seahawks. The most I've seen (and I happen to agree with) is that IF Hasselbeck plays an error free game AND the defense is able to pressure Farve into making a mistake or two, then the Seahawks have A CHANCE to win. The game is Green Bay's to lose, and I haven't read any articles (at least in the MSM - SI, ESPN, etc) that disagree.

Other than that game, I like the Giants going against a somewhat struggling Dallas offense. In the AFC, I can't see the two favorites losing.

I think 3 favorites win-

Packers 35 Seattle 24
Patriots 38 Jacksonville 23
Indy 31 San Diego 20
New York 27 Dallas 24

I don't know how hurt T.O. is and the Giants have been playing really well of late, so I'm going with them. Plus I'd like to see the NFC Championship at Lambeau. I don't think I've seen too many people picking the Seahawks, but I agree that they could pose a tough matchup. Seattle has been inconsistent on the road and they beat up on terrible teams all year. The two favorites in the AFC should win pretty easily. SD had Gates out, NE will stack the box and stifle the running game of the Jaguars, David Garrard is out of his element. They didn't really play that well last week, Pittsburgh just played bad and Big Ben made mistakes. Brady won't make those mistakes.

Washington was the vogue pick last weekend. This weekend its the Giants.

We'll see which Eli shows up.

The Seahawks schedule is a joke and their secondary is overrated and will be exposed if Favre has mearly an average day. Seattle has beaten one playoff team this year other than last weeks Todd Collins and that was in the first week of the season.

It's very tempting to take the Seahawks at +9. I like the Packers to squeeze out the win, but I don't see it being by any more than a touchdown.

Not reading, listening. LIstening to NFL Radio to be more exact. It is nothing but former (and some current) players, coaches, and GMs, with the normal media guys thrown in as well. All day every day. The most common upset pick I heard guys picking all week was the Seahawks, on most of their shows. The two guys on my favorite show had Green Bay all the way though. That was Tim Ryan and Pat Kirwin. I think Bob Papa and Shannon Sharpe may have said the Packers would win as well.

In a big surprise, Bob Papa picked the Giants to win as well. Shocker there, being their pBp guy.

I know this is late (and I haven't checked) but my picks are Seahawks, Pats, Cowboys and either Colts/Bolts . Favre will have his typical day of overthrowing receivers, forcing the ball into triple coverage because he has the heart of a warrior, and throwing interceptions against an underrated Seahawks team.

Holy crap.

You gotta assume at least 2 Favre-related turnovers. To already have 2 that have nothing to do with him is a bad sign.

It's like the first Bears game all over again. Young guy can't hold on to the football and GB is giving the game away so far.

And that comment on TV about this Green Bay team seeming overwhelmed is dumb. Ryan Grant yes, the rest of the team we don't know about yet.

The problem is Farve may feel the need to force things if Seattle scores again. We all know how that can turn out.

I guess we are finding out why some people thought the Packers might not really want homefield advantage.

And if this keeps up I may use more today then ever before.
