Kick ass names

I was reading a thread on fark (bleh) about people with really cool, funny, kick-ass or wierd names. Some of them crack me up, and some of them just blow me away. Apparantly, some parents can be really cruel or stupid when naming their kids.

For example, I had a friend back in Michigan named Summer Kitchen, and she was a real estate agent. On a little less interesting level, my wife's name is Carrie Maya Schmidt. Her maiden name is Pleasant, and her dad's name is Barry Pleasant.

Anyway, here are some other funny names:

Anyone else have some good ones?

terpkristin's nephew comes to mind: Otto Pilotte

add in his middle name, Maddock, and you got this: Otto Maddock Pilotte.

Along a similar line, I was always amused by a couple of doctor's offices that were next to each other in a town I used to work in. One had a dentist named "Paine" and the other had a surgeon named "Cutts".

I also knew a pair of cops that often worked cases together. Their names?
Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.

Not in the same vein, but I love what Penn (of Penn and Teller) named his kid.

Moxie Crime Fighter Jillette. What a name. Moxie Crime Fighter. My guess is that Moxie will probably love her name until early teens, hate until early twenties, then love for life.

Also Kevin Smith named his kid Harley Quinn Smith - after the Batman character.

In a similar vein, didn't Nicolas Cage name his son Kal-el after Superman?

In my hometown there's a Harold Richard Head, but he goes by Harry Dick.

I saw this guy on ABC news and thought it was a fake name, but no there really is a Spanky Assiter.

There is a woman who was very important to the formation of the agency I work for named, unfortunately, Gay Fish.

On an actually sad note, my mother teaches school in the inner city and dealt wirh one family with very troubled parents who had the audacity to name their son "Mister." Their last name? Rogers.

My first job out of school, one the the 401k plans we handled-

Harry Knobb Inc.

Also, this one I could not make up any better.
While in HS, started working at one of the local grocery stores. Toward the end of my time there is when credit card machines at the register became prevelant. Asian guy comes through my line, wants to use his credit card. So, you know the drill, supposed to verify names and signatures, etc etc.

The thermal paper spits out the total, the ************1234, and his name-
FUK YU

I about lost it.

I remember once during the Olympics Dick Pound, who is Canadian, was being interviewed by a fairly well known tv personality up here. His name is Rod Black. Someone noted that Dick Pound and Rod Black sounded like a bad porno movie. Oh, and I came across a name at work one day, Pamela Grabb-Cox.

There are a lot of Spanish weird names+surnames but a translation won't be half as fun.

For example (note that in Spain we have two surnames, one from the father and another from the mother as women here do not take the husband surname when married):

The dad had as surname "Fuertes"
The mum had as surname "De Barriga"
They named their daughter "Dolores" and she ended named "Dolores Fuertes de Barriga" that means "Strong pain in the stomach". I can't imagine the school days of that girl and the fun all the cruel kids had about her name.

To avoid that, a few years ago the Spanish government issued a new law that prohibits any kind of fun name+surname combination that could hurt the kid.

And who can forget Jack Schitt:

For some time many of us have wondered just who is Jack Schitt? We find ourselves at a loss when someone says, "You don't know Jack Schitt!" Well, thanks to my genealogy efforts, you can now respond in an intellectual way.

Jack Schitt is the only son of Awe Schitt. Awe Schitt, the fertilizer magnate, married O. Schitt, the owner of Needeep N. Schitt, Inc. They had one son, Jack.

In turn, Jack Schitt married Noe Schitt. The deeply religious couple produced six children: Holie Schitt, Giva Schitt, Fulla Schitt, Bull Schitt, and the twins Deap Schitt and Dip Schitt. Against her parents' objections, Deap Schitt married Dumb Schitt, a high school dropout.

After being married 15 years, Jack and Noe Schitt divorced. Noe Schitt later married Ted Sherlock, and, because her kids were living with them, she wanted to keep her previous name. She was then known as Noe Schitt Sherlock.

Meanwhile, Dip Schitt married Loda Schitt, and they produced a son with a rather nervous disposition named Chicken Schitt. Two of the other six children, Fulla Schitt and Giva Schitt, were inseparable throughout childhood and subsequently married the Happens brothers in a dual ceremony. The wedding announcement in the newspaper announced the Schitt-Happens nuptials.

The Schitt-Happens children were Dawg, Byrd, and Hoarse. Bull Schitt, the prodigal son, left home to tour the world. He recently returned from Italy with his new Italian bride, Pisa Schitt.

Now when someone says, "You don't know Jack Schitt, " you can correct them.
