Ping: 360 owners
So, I finally connect to XBox Live for the first time today to get the NCAA 2k8 patch. Have to go through the firmware/dashboard updates, yadda yadda yadda. Anyway, Bioshock now barely runs without freezing every five seconds and the console is noticably slower to boot up and turn off. Haven't noticed a problem with any other games, but I don't really have any other games that are graphics intensive.
Looking around online it seems like one of the major causes of red ring of death is these "updates" from Microsoft. I'm thinking my console is probably on borrowed time. At least I got 9 months good use without a crash, which looking around seems pretty par for the course. F'ing Microsoft ![]() I know a few guys on here have had problems with their consoles. Am I screwed? Should I just say eff it and put in the replacement request with customer service, or is there a chance I will wake up tomorrow and the console will be running fine? Any hints as to how I can avoid a complete meltdown? |

If you call Microsoft they'll have you clear out all your updates, and then you'll redownload them again. I believe.
