Are there real players or something? Retiring players? what? |

Don't. Walk away while you still have a chance. So young too.
There are fictional players, and they do retire, but otherwise it is a soccer sim where you buy sell train playres, and hope that you did it right, and win some games.

It is a soccer sim...it runs two games a week for each team....1 game is a league game...the other is an exhibition game (friendly) It uses made up players....made up teams....made up stadiums..... It is a very addictive little game that you can manage to play with 10 spare minutes a day....or 2 hours a day.

I'm still number 35 on the waiting list >=(
what can you tell me about this game that the quick rules don't say? Is there a hidden fee once you are accepted? Like, in simgalaxy, I think someone said that people who pay for the game get a noticable advantage.. is there anything like that here? Thanks! |

There are no fees for the game. Hattrick Supporter is an optional "add-on" which allows you to set player numbers, choose a logo, etc., but it's not forced on you and you don't need it to play. It's around $20/year or $5.50 for three months, so it's cheap and I know a lot of guys enjoy it (I know I do), but you don't need it. Have fun, it's a blast!

Yeah, it sounds so awesome. I'm not a big soccer buff, I just watch the World Cup and some English Premier and Spanish/Italian league stuff sometimes... would it still be fun? Or do I need to know a lot about soccer?

You can have a lot of fun without knowing very much about soccer but if you watch some Premiership matches and the World Cup, then chances are you already know enough.

I have never watched a match in my life but yet I am addicted to hattrick like smack and my team has won 7 straight league matches while vaulting in to first in my series after starting out in 6'th. So no, you don't need to know a damn thing about soccer

I've been one of the first guys to play this game before it turned into the hit that it is now, and these guys are still kicking my ass. My team sucks. At least I am 4th in my division.

Dola, that guy that has the KC Wizards, sure seems to know what he is doing. He won the US cup again. His stadium is huge too.

I'd like to see the ratings of his players. Think they would all be formidable, and up?

I would bet they are MUCH higher than that. In the Cup final his midfield was divine, at %100.

No, I can't, unfortunately. I only have 2 players at solid, and one of them is weak form, so he only plays on wednesday. Not to mention that I have 16k in the bank, so I can't afford anyone good without going into debt.

Hey, I got $79,500 off my match this week. That pulls me to only $242,000 in debt
Having a team that good would almost make things boring. Almost. |

Read a press announcment from a team in the MLS, and it said he spent 10 MILLION on a player from Sweden.

Hey, speaking of press announcements, how do you 'make' a press announcement? I've found my Series's message board, but no one seems to respond. The first place team, however, has made a ton of press announcements, and I can't figure out how to do that myself...

You have to have supporter, first off. Then you goto the drop down menu that has your players, etc. and there will be an "edit press anouncement" option. I think that's what it's called.

I will see your 242 000, sir, and raise you a 311_181. Good part, at least, is we finish the season at home (yay @ gate receipt) against one of our series' lower ranked team so I may be able to snag a nickle or two from a decent serie finish. Not even NEAR the running for the serie top scorer bonus, though (we were close last year, finishing 2nd in that). |
