I'm just hopeful they keep losing, so as to make the bumps more pleasing.

I suppose I shouldn't gloat too much, UTEP lost to Cal-Poly SLO several years ago. But the bright side of that loss was that it pretty much ended the Gary Nord era and led to the hiring of CMP.

Michigan would be a crappy coaching job , you lose 2 games, you're on the hot seat.

Wow, I bet Gindin and Gorski are just shaking their heads right now. Unbelievable bad back to back performances by Michigan. Is Oregon that much better than Ann Arbor, or is Michigan so much worse than touted, that these early games are a mismatch?

Carr has to be feeling the heat.

It warms my heart that the combined records of Michigan and ND is 0-4.

It looks like we won't have Lloyd around to lose bowl games and OSU games past this year. Which is too bad ... I'll be rooting for him the rest of the way (certainly next week against ND) in the same way that I rooted for the White Sox to be "just good enough" under Terry Bevington.

Does NBC have Michigan-ND next week? If so, that is an awkward game to market.

Oregon did everything that Appalachian State did on offense, just with upper-echelon talent. I know that Michigan lost five defensive starters to the NFL, but now they've lost four straight games dating back to last season.

Maybe that Ohio State loss jarred something loose in the program. They haven't played a good game since then - and they were favored to win all three of them.

Remember, in '05 (the year the Wolverines lost to Nebraska in San Antonio) they fired both coordinators after the season, and that was after winning back to back Big 10 titles the two previous years. Remember that great Rose Bowl against Texas?

Despite all this, I still think they beat Notre Dame next week.

No way they hire Saban, considering he coached at MSU.

Why would anyone want Nick Saban? He quits jobs faster than Larry Brown.

I would never have thought that I could despise them more than I do already, but if U-M hires Saban, I would have to do something drastic. He is the scum of the earth.

If he got canned tomorrow, he'd leave Michigan with a record of 113-38. I'm trying to think of the last major college coach with that kind of record to get fired (not quit or retire).

Woody? That would be ironic.

Just goes to show that he's one of the worst big game coaches of all eternity, especially considering the fact that UM barley even has to try to recruit yet still gets as many top guys as anyone in the country.

Worst "Bigtime" coach ever.

Frank Solich?

Larry Coker?

0-2 UM against 0-2 ND, it's just a shame that one of them has to win. Can they reinstitute ties for that game?

I wonder why some so-called elite programs will tolerate mediocrity so much longer than others. Not saying that Michigan football is circling the drain or anything - their last title isn't even ten years old yet - but I figured I better learn who Michigan's Bo Pelini is in case of emergency.

Cooper was 111-43-4 at OSU, and lost his job because he kept losing to Michigan. Carr can't beat OSU since Tressel got there, lost 4 straight bowl games, and now, can't beat anyone. I'm not surprised his seat is getting white hot.

I'm gonna predict a Mishitgan win next week. ND is not a very good football team. I don't think Mishitgan really is either, but I think they have more experienced talent than ND, I might be wrong, but watching them both play the blue boys at least look like they have a clue, unlike the golden dorks.

I really don't want to threadjack, but I refuse to let this go any time I see it posted. The pass interference was 100% without a doubt the correct call. There is no argument once you actually watch the wide angle replay. Sharpe grabbed Gamble around the goal line after the ball was already in the air. And even if it wasn't yet that's defensive holding and also an automatic first down.

I was about to post the same thing reading through the thread. I'm still stunned at how people think Miami was screwed in that game. Not only was that play clearly PI, there was a clear Miami hold against Ohio State in regulation that allowed them to even be in OT to begin with. Coker wasn't hosed, he simply got beat in a game of very evenly matched teams. (it's not his fault people thought Miami was 14 points better)

As for Michigan and ND, it's simply amazing. Hell, why stop there. We just had a weekend where:

1) Michigan was waxed by 32 points at hom to go to 0-2 with one of the losses to a non D1 team.
2) Notre Dame was shelled by 21 points and has been outscored 64-13 this year. They have -8 rushing yards on the season.
3) Miami got stomped and their QB's have now went 20-45 for 173 yards in two games this season. (3.8 yards per pass attempt, impressive boys)
4) Florida St. rallied at home to beat a team that had lost 7 consecutive games.
5) Rutgers blew out another opponent for their 13th win in their last 15 games.

Imagine if I listed ANY of the above as predictions in 2003? Amazing stuff.
