Some tough NFL Trivia

1) Larry Centers became the third running back in NFL history with 6,000 career receiving yards, in 2001. Who were the first two?

2) Since the 1970 merger, who were the first pair of borthers drafted by the same NFL team?

3) Which U. of Texas DT was chosen Number 1 overall by the Patriots in 1982?

4) Who scored the Giants' only touchdown in Superbowl 35?

5) Which former quarterback led the Detroit Lions to their last NFL title, in 1957, and then later led the San Diego Chargers to their first AFL title in 1963?

6) Who was picked #2 overall in the 2001 NFL Draft, and by which team (Vick was #1 that year)?

I think these are pretty tough....

1) Still nobody has gotten even 1 of these correct.

2) The team was actually Tampa Bay.

5) Alworth is incorrect.

The brothers are Lee Roy and Dewey Selmon, by Tampa.

The QB is probably Tobin Rote.

Well, I know the answer to 1 now, but I looked it up on the internet. If anyone guesses that, I'll be very impressed.

Excellent Web, correct on both counts. Did you know these or did you look them up?

I knew the Selmons, and semi-guessed Rote - knew he was an early Bolt, and thought he had had a decent NFL career previously.

Head crammed with useless stuff...

I'm stunned Roger Craig isn't the correct answer for #1. Youch.

How 'bout Ricky Watters? Keith Byars? Not Thurman Thomas either? I'm showing my age and complete ignorance of old-time football, aren't I?

are you serious?

He's one of the newer breed of fullbacks who can't do anything but catch. (also see: Richie Anderson - New York Jets)

He's played with Arizona, Washington, and currently Buffalo

He's led his team in # of catches a few times I believe.

EDIT: he's number 9 ALL-TIME in receptions.

1. Frank Gifford? was he techinically a RB or WR? I thought he played both, which could screw up his consideration for this category...

Thanks homer, I somehow had Arizona in back of my mind. He seems to be one of those steady anonymous players that moved around a bit. I am stunned that he is #9 in receptions.

Hmm, I don't want to be too easy, nor too hard....here goes.

A contemporary of Larry Centers for most of his career, this player left his first team the year before they made their first super bowl....but played in a super bowl for his new team, catching the most number of balls for his squad.

How's that?

We are sure.

Based on Cuervo's clue he was with the Bills in the late 80s then went to another team that played in their first Super Bowl in the mid 90s, which I think would be San Diego. I can't think of who the FB on that Chargers team was.
