OT - The FOFC post-match, Hattrick Discussion
As it is now, I don't like having to send individual messages to FOFC members through hattrick to say good game or you suck or whatever. So how about we use this thread to have discussions, set up matches, share in eachothers failures against fellow fofc members.
If not, oh well. |

Midwest Ice Storm FC - Spring Grove Fighting Eagles 5 - 5
Check out the wild end this match had to it. Must have been a heluva lot of injury time.
At Midwest Ice Storm FC Arena, 498 punters turned up, and despite threatening clouds at the horizon, no rain came. Midwest had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Tsau-Wun - Melvin, Mayberry, Norman - Dejesus, Alcaide, Taylor, Mcguire, Najeeb - Baer, Foo-Foo. Fighting started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. They fielded: Blackburn - Brown, Sheets, Beverly - Moore, Scruggs, Mora, Jiménez, Phelps - Mahon, Maurer. After 21 minutes Fightings Martin Maurer made his way through the middle, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 25:th minute Fighting goal, making it 0 - 2. Tom Sheets was noted down as the scorer. Clarence Moore of Fighting received a yellow card in the 26:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Midwest seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion about the organization of the team. In the games 33rd minute Midwest´s Loren Dejesus fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked Loren Dejesus for taking a dive. Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 36:th minute Fighting goal, making it 0 - 3. Martin Maurer was noted down as the scorer. 0 - 3 was the half-time score. Midwest, bringing the final ball possession rate to 52 percent, dominated the battle. The Midwest players spent the half-time break getting a rerun of the teams tactical organization. Loren Dejesus hit the ball just perfect in the 68:th minute and could score for Midwest with a fab long shot to 1 - 3. In the 68:th minute Eddie Baer passed through the guests central line of defense, scoring the 2 - 3 goal. Midwest seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion about the organization of the team. Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 76:th minute Fighting goal, making it 2 - 4. Randy Mahon was noted down as the scorer. After 86 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Martin Maurer who increased Fighting´s lead to 2 - 5. By then Martin Maurer was a three time scorer - a hat trick! After this Fighting lowered the tempo in order to concentrate on their defensive efforts. A marvelous Midwest effort to the right resulted in a 90:th minute goal by George Taylor, putting the score up to 3 - 5. Neil Norman of Midwest received a yellow card in the 90:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Chucho Mora was suffering from cramps and had big difficulties keeping up as the opponentes pushed forward. Jamey Mcguire had no problems getting through and hit home the 4 - 5 goal. George Taylor pulled a real crowd pleaser as he, in the 90:th minute, wove through the guests whole central defense line and put the 5 - 5 equaliser away. Midwest held the ball, with a clear 69 percent possession rate. Midwest´s best player was Alpesh Najeeb. Jamey Mcguire on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Fighting player was without a doubt Victor Brown. Lawrence Blackburn was a disappointment, however. The match ends 5 - 5. The match ends 5 - 5. Illini's team just couldn't hold on to it. And I got a 2star performance from Kong Foo-Foo in his first ever match. This was also my first attempt at the 3-5-2. Injuries have killed my defense and I am well stocked at mid and forward.

I lost 3-2 to the Blade Bombers...and William Vang is bruised up. I hate injuries! At least he's still playable.

Dacman, if you want a rematch at your place let me know.
edit: I'm pissed off, the highest position grade I got was passable for the central defense. If I score 5 goals, surely my offense played well. Last edited by Easy Mac : 02-26-2003 at 08:08 PM. |

On that note, I'm up to play anyone. My place not yours, as I'm probably going to draw more of a crowd. I'll wait a day before I start challenging teams in Canada.
First come first serve...

Louisiana Cyclones - Flying Condors 0 - 3
Good game condors. My team has yet to score a goal in hattrick in 2 games .... 2 things I was happy about from my team
Right Side Defence: passable Central Defence: passable So it seems that my defense is playing pretty good, I just need to work on that offense...My team is starting to take shape as I figure out who I want starting... Also whoever thinks they have the worst team (besides me), could you please challenge me, so that I can hopefully get a goal... Last edited by Doug5984 : 02-26-2003 at 08:17 PM. |

Easy Mac,
What you want to pile on my 2nd teamers???? You got 5 goals for one reason -- Midfield: disastrous Meanwhile my 1st team goalie goes down again! And why was he playing a friendly you ask? Because he wasn't healthy for the league game, but got healthy a day before the friendly and I didn't want him to miss any training. Arrrrgh!

Oh geez, Pilotman, I'm not sure. I'm a bit ashamed of that, actually. I think we'll be good to go once all of the teams clear out of the Windy City Cup. I'm sure Dataking will let us know a week or so in advance.

Modest beating? You apparently haven't seen my latest games against the FOFC. I've lost a number in a row!

PilotMan I can't belive it. I thought you would beat me for sure! We had such a big lead, too. Gotta love the rating for my keeper. Zero, zippo, nada stars for him. Best thing was, is that I am a dumbass.
LAwrence Blackburn was my recent youth pull, and I just bought a passable keeper to replace my injured one, and his name didn't sound familar so i figured he was the guy i bought. Put him in net, come back, can't beleive that i see this: Lawrence Blackburn 6 000 US$, 17 years, passable form Has disastrous experience and poor leadership abilities [Head] Stamina: inadequate Keeper: disastrous Smooth move on my part! I am a dumbass, stuidass, retardass, etc. Buy a keepr: $150,000. Plan on playing the keeper, and pick the worst possible choice instead: priceless.

Yeah, I was pretty sure I wasn't going to win. I played my entire B squad, except for a winger who was a sub b/c the guy who was supposed to start was sold, and my keeper. My D was terrible and to top it off it was my first shot at the 3-5-2 so my team had no idea what they were doing.
Have to admit though, your keeper is definatly buying rounds tonight.

MoKan Mighty Bastards beat my NE Oklahoma Sidekicks 1-0. They had to take out my winger and my Keeper to do so.
You're gettin it now! Now you have to face my ***~ Keeper istead of my backup who only gets **~ You will pay! |

Jeez, I'm surprised you only scored 5 goals. Heck he shut you out in the first half. But you would think after 4 goals, they might go with the sub keeper? He will be buying more than rounds for our team, anyone that wants to join us, come on in. Ain't my money, it's his, so the more the merrier.

I message ausonny that all my subs are in. I get a message back that au wasn't home in time to put in any 2nd teamers, so my crap subs go against the Bee's starters. Needless to say, Cowtown WENT down (that is a very poetic sounding way to say I got stomped), 4-0.
Sooooo, anyone need a consolation Losers friendly for next week? (and I don't get online until night, so if I get an offer, I can't respond 'til tomorrow night, if anyone is open.))

Sadly, I only had 1 first teamer in my squad, though I may have to rethink that lineup. Of course right after the game I sell 2 of the players, but oh well. |

Yeah, sorry about that. I got home about 3 hours late from work and walked in at like the 3rd minute of the game. I'd say that's what I get for waiting til the last minute, except you had to pay the price. I suck. |

Afoci and I had a kissing your sister 2-2 tie. At least my young midfielders held the ball for 70% of the time, and got some valuable training in.
Easy, I think my 17 year olds are coming to your place next in the unoffical newbie cup. You better keep those starters on the bench. |

Don't worry, I have exactly 22 players and I don't have the money for more right now. So you'll get my 2nd 11, except for top goalscorer, but thats b/c he's got a red card ad will miss the league game, so he has to play. |

Only 22? I keep buying players thinking I'm getting a deal and I can never sell anyone (even when I offer 'em up for $0). I think I'm up to 26 players now ... and unfortunately I probably need to fire a few.

Not to worry. From the look of the "stars" on the game log, you are better than my 1st team anyway. Good luck to the Bees.

I sold 3 in the last 2 days, and only then after teams got in a bidding war over them. They each went up like 12000 each in 20 minutes. |
