xp "System" attribute.

I am really at a loss on this one, so, I thought I would throw it out there and see if anyone has come a cross this.

I am having some customers with the problem of xp tagging their files with the system attribute. These are old ".DBF" files in a directory off the root. It only happened a couple of times, but after the second, it was time to look into what is going on.
