Forum Smash?

I remember the announcement that the General Discussions forum had been split in two until the beginning of the new year. So when do they get smashed back together?

Funny you mentioned this. I had completely forgotten the fof2007 stuff was somewhere else during my holiday vacation. I was just thinking to myself earlier that there didn't seem to be much excitement over the game when I remembered. I just got done a little bit ago reading through some of the threads I had missed there.

If we're going to keep the FOF stuff separate I'd like to see the video stuff game forced to that forum to give it some usefulness as well. Would make it easier to find that stuff.

Sadly, I see this topic header and can only think "GRRR. Forum SMASH!!!"

Thinking in HulkSpeak cannot be a good thing.

Yeah, I like it separated too. Let's keep it this way, and merge the "Console/PC Games" forum with the Off-Topic, which BTW is already full of impressions and threads about other games.

The only issue I see with this is the forum seems alot slower (in terms of amount of posting), plus most FOF related discussions get nowhere near the response they use to.

There are dozen of post about FOF in that sub-forum that have one or no responses at all which is unusual considering how fresh the game is just off of release.

I would hate for the PC impressions forum to get any use, cause i currently found a way to minimize the PC/WW/HT forum block, so I can ignore those forums in my world.

That is because people like me never go into that forum. If they were in here, I would look in them, and usually respond. But they are not in here, so I never see them and I never respond. To respond, I would either have to go over there, or they would have to come over here. I don't see either happening anytime soon. So therefore, I will not be responding while they are still over there, because (and I may have said this already) I do not go over there, I stick to General and that's about it. Now if they end up coming back over here, I will see them, read them, and possibly respond. Until then though, they remain a mystery to me because I am unable to read them when I can't see them.

The current iteration of Grundy, perhaps not so bad... (See Justice League of America, Metzler/Benes, issues 1-5)

How does one "never see" the FOF forum, when it's the first forum at the top of the list? I find myself checking the 3 top forums at least 2 or 3 times a day. It's right there...if you're interested in commenting on an FOF-related topic, just click on that forum link before you click on off-topic and see what's going on. Maybe if SD put a sticky link at the top of the off-topic forum - would that help people remember?

Because you load up this forum (or have it bookmarked) and just refresh it all day.

Easy, if you're bookmarked to here instead of the forum front.

FWIW, I really don't think remembering is as big an issue as the majority of visitors simply not being all that interested.

Same for me, I have my bookmark go directly to this forum. I figured I was in the minority, or old age setting in or something when I forgot about the other forum. I don't really think remembering it is a huge deal for me, I just had forgotten during the few weeks I didn't come here regularly over the holidays.

On a daily thing, I hop in there once I've finished viewing the new topics in this forum (time permitting)

I have this forum bookmarked as well, and often forget to check the other one (I would rather camp here than the FOF2k7 one, personally, at least as the default).

They are too busy having to deal with people bitching about signatures that people have, that they have had for nearly a year...

having the two forums split up is the worst thing that could happen in terms of exposure for FOF2k7. my interest in FOFC has dwindled down to the OT conversation. at least if the other forum was merged with this one i would possible stumble in a FOF2k7 thread or two depending on how catchy the thread title was, but as it is it's just too easy for me to avoid any discussion of FOF2k7. i link to the OT forum, and i only once in a blue moon venture to "that other" forum once i've exhausted all the topics here and am bored.
