Question for the tech minded
I have been having a problem with my laptop AC adapter. Its no longer being recognized. I realize that my motherboard port might need to be replaced, or my AC adapter is not working properly. My AC adapter is 130 watts, it came with the system so i know that is the correct wattage. I also have an AC adapter from a previous laptop that is 150 watts. Can I use it? Can it cause problems? i dont know much when it comes to that kind of stuff so i really appreciate any help anyone can give me. Thanks!

I would be willing to bet your connector on your system board is bad.
.. and I would never plug anything but what is supposed to plug into your laptop as you never know what might happen when more power is applied.. |

If it is an HP laptop, there was a thread on here before which helped explain solutions to the problem.
