Name that great NES cart!
What was that baseball game for the original NES that was so amazing?
I think it was Baseball Stars but there was a couple of different ones I think... |

Baseball Stars was it for me.
RBI Baseball was another that everyone mentions, but I never played it. |

Baseball Stars(the original) was great. Baseball Stars 2 seemed half finished and sucked.
RBI....that was a fucking game there. There was also some NES baseball game with all the teams and players that I remember playing quite a bit. I don't remember the name though. I just remember that it had an awesome pick off move where you could always get the opposition out. |

Here's another vote for Baseball Simulator (I remember playing Baseball Simulator 3000, so I guess there were different versions).

baseball stars is THE baseball game on NES. baseball simulator 1000 was ok if you had an hour to wait on the cpu v cpu games to be simulated.

What are these "new NES/SNES systems" you are talking about?

They finally got them in at Game Craze (I think that's the chain out here that has them). They play NES and SNES carts. They have slots for each and you move the switch to 8 bit or 16 bit to determine which one is outputted to the tv. It looks really cool and a much better idea then buying an old NES and SNES system for our game room. |

Baseball stars rocked... I always built up my leadoff guy to be a world champion sprinter and then added some power behind him. Eventually you'd get a stocked team that would dominate. I loved that game...

I think this is the game I am thinking of. Unfortunately my Phillies had shitty pitching in that game. So I was always stuck having to go to Bedrosian in the 7th inning or so. Back then, relievers really only got like 10 pitches or so before they would start to majorly suck. So I'd have to pray that he got a lot of one pitch outs. |

Baseball stars for the GM team building stuff.
Bases Loaded for the ultimate (in those days) in simulation. Remember if you beaned the same batter twice it would start a bench clearing brawl and the batter and pitcher would be ejected (unless you just hit "B" on the controller then the pitcher stayed, but the batter was still gone...yeah me and my cousin broke a few controllers over that move) but 162 game season, bleh no thanks RBI was it for me for fun....kinda tecmo bowlish in its lack of realism but extremely fun. Tecmo baseball blowed Ahh the good ole days |

No, your memory is just playing tricks on you. Baseball Simulator 1.000 was on the NES and Super Baseball Simulator 1.000 was for the SNES. Both outstanding arcade baseball games.

Loved Baseball Simulator .1000, nothing better than luring an unsuspecting friend into a game and then unleashing one of the special powers on him at a key time!!
Friend: Hey how did your pitcher throw that 200 MPH Fastball with flames trailing off it??? Me: I don't know.......it just happens sometimes....strange eh? |
