Dicky V.

I'm watching the Texas-OK game on ESPN and it is very enjoyable.
That being said, Dick Vitale makes it akmost unwatchable, it's like being at a 3 year olds birthday party. I just wish the guy would shut up and say something meaningfull and intellegent instead of screaming like the 19 year old kids at the game.

I hate Dick Vitale. He's the most annoying announcer of all time

Dookie V.? He finds a way to mention Duke in every game he does. Annoying bastard.

I'd say the most annoying announcer is Tim McCarver, or John Thompson.

Diaper Dandy BAAAAABYYYYYYYY!!

He is ok. I won a bobblehead of him from ESPN last year, so he moved up my list.

I refuse to watch any game he does with the sound on. I can put up with almost anyone (John Thompson, John Madden, even Dennis Miller), but "Dickie V." exceeds my tolerance level.

Every Vitale game is the same... talks about the coaches, the freshman, and the "made-for-tv" storyline of the moment. From those three topics, he rambles about who he knows, the great freshman playing across the country, great games he's seen earlier this year (Duke games, typically), and maybe, maybe what he saw at practice the day before. All of this running commentary comes at the expense of the game at hand, distracting from the action on the court!

As an announcer, the man is a joke.

On the other hand, if anyone has seen any Big 12 games this year, Jon Sundvold is excellent. Always insightful and really knows the players. It's like night and day compared to Vitale.

As annoying as Dicky V can be, I have to tolerate him, because he usually gives some props to my Jayhawks.

I've always enjoyed listening to Sundvold. He's been covering the Big 12 exclusively (to my knowledge) for a number of years now, and really knows his stuff. He knows that conference like the back of his hand, but not a ton about other conferences. Kind of a broadcasting "specialist," if you will.

Dickie V loves EVERYONE. Not just Duke. He raves about everyone without fail and almost never has a negative comment about any team. It is unnerving, to say the least.

As a Seton Hall fan, Dicky V upsets me because he never ever talks about the team unless they are doing good, mentioning how he went there and loves them so much.

I like Dicky V., but I may be biased because he has coached at one of my alma maters and also coached the Pistons for a forgettable spell.

Are you kidding me America? This kid ice4277 can really make some informative posts baby. Coming out Detroit Mercy baby, give the little schools some respect! How about the job Billy Donovan has done at Florida - what a job, but don't forget about Tubby Smith and the Wildcats at Kentucky - they might still have something to say about the SEC.
