FM Network Game - League Poll & New Signup
As per the last poll, the official time for these will be Sunday evenings, starting at about 8pm CST.
The vote is now exactly which league we want to play. Even if you don't care strongly any way, please vote on what you would most prefer. And, please send another post this way to confirm you still want to play, as I remember some people can't do Sunday evenings. How does this stuff work via a network? Do you do a week at a time?

Warhammer: Everyone connects to a central server, and it's like single player, except the game doesn't advance until everyone's ready (you can set a time out once a certain amount of folks are ready, everyone has 10 seconds to wrap up what they were doing)

Hey Foz. Does all scouting/scouring for players have to be done whilst connected to the server?

When is the expected start date for this? And what happens if you have to miss a week?

Your assistant manager gets the honor of managing for you. Really, missing a week here and there shouldn't be that big of deal. Yeah, you might wind up with a non-ideal player starting a match, but how often do you REALLY change up things once you're set? |

Yes, scouring and all that has to be done while connected
Butter: If you have to miss a weekend, your Assistant Manager will control the team. Butter: come game day, each coach takes care of their game normally, with coaches who don't have a game or finish their games before other coaches can watch the other games in progress.

okay, this intrigues me very much. What happens when it's a human-vs-human game? Do you get to see the other team go through tactical changes and such. Seriously, this has me really excited. Looking forward to the fun of it FM

Bad idea, CW. Especially at this level, the pool will not require intensive searching, what can't be handled live can be handled by scouts. And you know how big the save games are.

I'm confused. You mean, random players and a draft to know who gets which team or a full draft, player by player? I just don't know what's possible with the game... FM

I'm going to give this some really strong thought about whether I'll be playing, so I'm going to hold back my vote for a few hours. I would love to get into this, and it's just a matter of knowing about how much time we'd be spending in the game each week. Two hours? Three hours? I'm just looking for an approximation.

Sounds cool. By 9pm on Sunday, I'm usually just sitting at home playing video games or watching TV anyway. I guess the only issue that might be a problem for some people is that this will be happening during Sunday Night Football on NBC. I have a TV right next to the computer, so it's no big deal for me. It's just something that occurred to me a moment ago.

2-2.5 hours sounds great to me, and I'm not even really into the NFL. Fox Soccer Channel is where it's at. I'm confused about the draft statement as well. Are we drafting teams or players?

I think the way the draft works is that CW puts everyone who's playing in a random order and then, in that order, we pick which team in League One (judging from the poll) we would like to manage.

I'll run the randomizer for the draft order this evening. People can still sign up, but after the initial picks it'll be first come, first serve.
What I think I'm going to do is provide the initial save game file in a couple of days for people to look through. That way, people can spend a solid week (I'm busy this sunday, so start time is next week) looking through their club and prepping. |

30 minutes till I do the "draft" order. (Which will be in a new thread)
The teams that are in League One, since it's pretty bloody obvious what the choice is, are as follows: Barnsley Blackpool Bournemouth Bradford City Brentford Bristol Chesterfield Colchester Doncaster Gillingham Hartlepool Huddersfield MK Dons Nottingham Forest Oldham Port Vale Rotherham Scunthorpe Southend Swansea Swindon Tranmere Walsall Yeovil |
