Today is the Best Sports Day Of The Year

Each year it seems the Sports Gods bless us (well, at least me) with one glorious day of sport each year. A day that surpasses all other based on the quality and sheer volume of sport available on T.V. Tpyically this day falls on the NFL Draft Weekend.

Let's take a look at today's offerings...

12:00 - ??: The NFL Draft. Aka The Lions' Superbowl *insert joke about the Lions drafting a WR here*.

1:00 - 3:00: Tigers vs. the Twins. While I wont be watching this, it's still good to know the game is on and the Tigers are playing, and playing well to boot. I may check it out from time to time.

(NFL Draft Continues)

3:00 - 6:00(?): Detroit vs. Edmonton, Game 5. The pivotal Game 5 with the series tied 2-2. For those so inclined, you can also watch the Devils complete the sweep on the Rangers.

(NFL Draft Continues)

7:00 - 10:00: Pistons vs. The Bucks, Game 3. Most likely the end of the series. We also have Ottawa vs. Tampa Bay, Game 5. The Sens are likely to finish Tampa off here. It's also possible there is some other NBA game on, but I have no idea.

(NFL Draft Continues?)

10:00 - 1:00: Anaheim vs. Calgary, Game 5. This series is also tied 2-2. It's been a great series thus far. It's also possible there is some other NBA game on, but I have no idea.

That is about 13 hours straight of great sport. Draft and playoff action. After working about 12-13 hours each day last week, H_B plans to sit down in front of the TV, consume much food and beer, and enjoy it all.

These are Good Times, my friends. Good times. . .

The Free Press or News had an article saying about the same thing

Verlander pitching for the Tigers adding to its interest.

I was thinking that this is probably the best sports day of the year earlier today. Needs to be a poll.

Meh. I'll watch some of the draft, but it's sunny, with temperatures in the high 70's today in the quiet mountain town of Placerville, California. I'll be spending most of the day outside.

Only 7 minutes to go. I'm more excited about this draft than any other one in quite a few years (probably because the Eagles pick higher than they have in quite a few years - except the year they traded up.)

Meh. Outside's always there, it aint goin' anywhere fast. And it's pretty much always in the 70's in California. What a waste. . .

Then again, since the Foreskins don't have much in the way of picks, enjoy the sunshine.
