Question football Junkies: you going to try Arena?

Arena football kicks off this weekend, and I think I'm going to give it a shot.

I think the decision to move the season up will work out great. They have the momentum of the end of the season working for them, and now players don't have to decide whether to play in the AFL or attend NFL training camp (if they have the chance).

I'm thinking about it. I actually enjoyed some NFL Europe games last season.

I plan on attending a few Arena 2 games this year, but their season has not been moved up. I don't even think the expansion Cincinnati Swarm have a roster yet.

I will try to watch. Wish someone would actually make a video game for the Arena league.

How do you make an AF2 game? What do you make it out of? Are the material expensive?

AFL and AFL2 should institue a relegation/promotion system for like 2 teams each year. That would keep things interesting, and introduce the US to a very cool league structure. It's the only thing I envy about soccer.

There was a NFL Blitz style game made for the Arena league a few games back. It's something like Kurt Warner's Arena Football Unleashed. It was for PS1.

I used to love watching arena games before I moved overseas. Unfortunatly they don't show anything out here. Next season I will be back in the US and I will be able to see some of the games.

I have been to some games in the past and had a really enjoyable time. I am happy to see that it is picking up pace and will most likely find myself in front of the TV watching.

Besides, how can you really argue with a league that gives out an annual Hero Award for the player that shows the most work and dedication in his community? This is a nice thing to see in professional sports.

The NFL does tons of stuff like this too. I think they diminish their own efforts with their goofy United Way ad campaigns.

I may give it a shot. Thinking about taking in a Dragons game since I'm only a few minutes away. If ownership is as determined to make a winning football team out of the Dragons as they are with thier hockey team (NY Islanders) it may be pretty interesting.

Indeed, the NFL, NHL and many other sports have similar programs, which are all positive aspects of professionalism. It's just nice to see these types of things transfer over from one sport to the next. Just trying to give credit where credit is due.
