Automatically sign picks
I forgot, are you able to turn off the "automatically sign draft picks" option in FOF4? Or am I thinking of FOF2...

In FOF4, draft picks are automatically signed, it's not an option. In FOF2, it was an option.

I didn't think it was such a huge deal, but I think it's easy to make the argument that he should have at least left that option available. |

Maybe its good in that it makes the game a bit harder. If you can sign them you might offer them less than what they ask and they accecpt, helping you on the cap. Or they might have a voidable year that you wouldnt have offered, meaning you might take a bigger cap hit if they meet the mark to void the last year, or you retructure before that. Its not much, and I kinda liked signing my draft picks in FOF2001, but overall I dont mind it too much.

IRL the cost of a draft pick is determined more by where they are drafted than by anything else

To me, the only disappointment is in the term of the contract (and not the money). I dislike getting only a 4 year deal with my first round rookie pick. While it's realistic (different players have different priorities, I understand that) I find it frustrating to have that totally out of my hands.

I agree with Quiksand. A nice tweak going forward (jim, primelord..) would be to introduce a signability level. Maybe the kid has a bright future in law, medicine, dope-dealing, or DPW work, and won't sign except for a LOT of money, perhaps with a bias to a geographical area as well. The whole player agent thing also has a lot off possibilities which so far I've just ignored.
