Heart nearly stopped. . .
I'm in a $2 tourney at Party.
Down to 42 players at a break. I'm sitting at around 84k in chips. I'm in the small blind. I get dealt J/J. An uber aggressive player with 50k in chips moves all in. He's played non pairs all night, I decide to take a chance. He had A/Q. Flop comes out 5/5/2/6/4 I win, I'm going to be up to around 135k.The chips start sliding toward my player. . . and the screen freezes. And sits there. For nearly 2 minutes. Then it moves and we start again. Whew. A tough hand with A/K and I'm down to 105k. Average stack is at 79k, leader is at 202k. 38 players left. Wish me luck. |

Well, my tourney comes to an end.
I couldn't get a playable hand. I mean ANY playable hand. No suited connecters, no pair of face cards, no pocket pairs. Tried to make one steal with a Q/9, but the board was horrible and someone went all in on me. Down to 65k in chips, I went all in with the first hand I'd hand since those pocket J. A/K of hearts. Opponent showed pocket 7's. I didn't hit the A/K or flush and went out in 20th place out of 1002. I need to read Harrington's book on late tourney play and see if I made some wrong moves. But that was a lot of fun. Picked up something like 20 bucks. I'm well on my way to the purchase of Maximum Football now. Last edited by TroyF : 03-01-2006 at 02:19 AM. |

First would have been $431 bucks I think. Somewhere in that area.
I've been playing a ton of ring and sit and go's but wanted to play in a nice little cheap tourney last night for some more experience. Cool thing is I finished in 20th and I never really had a "suckout." In fairness, nobody ever really gave me a bad beat either. 20th is probably right where I deserved to finish. If only that were the main event at the WSOP. I'd be rich!!! (and yeah, I'd be out in 9,000 place with no money too, I know. |
