Are there any good games out there?
I need some help. I've got some free money to spend, and was thinking about getting a new game, but as far as I am aware, there is nothing really out there. Are there any games I am missing, or should put some money down on?
Civ 4, heck I can't think of anything past that! |

Civ4 is outstanding. Nothing else out right now interests me either.

I heard there was a pretty big memory leak bug in there. Is that a showstopper? |

I think that was fixed in the latest patch. The game has always run fine on my system, though, so it wasn't a dealbreaker to me either way. |

Civ 4's problems have been fixed. It runs like a dream now.
Galactic Civ 2 just got released, though apparently it's pretty buggy. I would wait on that. I would also recommend "Mount and Blade." It's available via download for $14. It will probably be the best $14 you ever spend on a computer game. It's not a complex game, but it has an amazing fight engine. Very realistic. It's a simple, but fun game. I downloaded it yesterday and played it for 10 hours straight.

What is the minimum specs that can reasonably run Civ IV? I can't afford to upgrade my PC (purchased roughly Sept. 2002) any time soon b/c I'm saving for a house down payment, but would love this game. |

Battlefield 2 is a lot of fun if you are into FPS squad games.

Sorry, I think I misunderstood what you meant by "out there" anyway. |

Civ4 is the only good game that I am aware of that has come out in the past 4 months. Pretty sad, actually, but Civ4 is worth 10 mediocre games.

I don't think it is amazing, but it is good. It is very good to excellent if you are also a Star Wars Fan. However, if you've liked any of the games in the genre, you can't beat Civ4.

I agree about Mount & Blade. Great game (although not complete). Before the most recent version, I was playing a mod for it called "The Last Days" that was based on Middle Earth. Really gave the game more depth, but it hasn't been updated to the new version yet. |
