Have a few pints of Guiness and wait twenty minutes.

I am at the point where The Kid is about to be dispatched most unpleasantly. I am thoroughly enjoying this book.

I just had to buy a new copy of the paperback around the start of winter because the one I bought back in high school fell apart beyond repair.

The Dark Tower series piqued my interest in King and The Stand (complete and uncut version) seemed the next logical choice. I also just picked up Cell at Borders.

I've never actually tried to read the Dark Tower series. I did read somewhere that the Walking Dude makes an appearance in one of the books in that series.

I am so sorry for you.

Are you on anti-psychotic? If not, I'd consult your pediatrician.

It's scary that Coors was once considered a quality micro-brew...

I find that hard to believe.

On second thought, no I don't. Any state that can embrace a shit organization like the Avalanche can't have a shred of taste.

From what I understand Coors was unknown outside of Colorado until the late seventies/early eighties. There's a line in James Michener's "Centennial" where the author comes from the east coast and has this amazing beer called Coors for the first time. Made me damn near puke the first time I read it...

According to my dad, Coors was availible in Oklahoma before then...said it was about the only beer you could find, probably because they make a 3.2 version of it and it was illegal to sell liquor by the drink then (but not illegal to sell 3.2 beer).

Yes he does and this is why The Stand was my next selection. I almost wish I had read DT after the other novels King has pointed out are related to the DT.

Holy Shit! The first Smokey and the Bandit was all about Burt Reynolds trying to bring some Coors across the Mississippi to some rich white guy in the south. Back then, Coors was not available east of the Miss. River and it was illegal to transport beer across state lines. Oh, Bandit, you're such a rebel...

Damn! Is that a Stephen King reference or a Dean R. Koontz reference?

I'm thinking Dean R. Koontz.

For the record, I hate Coors. I was just seeing who would pick up the reference first. I'm a big fan of Yuengling Lager and it's fitting that the brewery is only a 40 mile ride from here. Should Captain Trips hit and I'm left alive, I'm heading to Pottsville.
