Galesburg Avengers, Hattrick Style
Well, since my thread appears not to have made it, I'll just resume things here.
The latest league match... -- Galesburg Avengers - FD United 6 - 2 Date: 1/27/2003 at 01:00 MatchID: 4589949 Arena: Vengeance Field Crowd: 8005 8005 spectators had come to Vengeance Field this cloudy day. Galesburg had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Thomas - Andres Alvaro, Hammond, Schrader - Cole, Oskarsson, Harrell, Matson, Otero - Jones, Mosley. United had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Estornell - Roman, Numbers, Butterfield - Belda, Portillo, Moore, Dewey, Strauss - Mateu Vilaseca, Alaniz. Some beautiful plays on the left side of the field resulted in a 18:th minute goal by Sam Jones for Galesburg, putting them ahead 1 - 0. United had obvious problems in finding their positions. Galesburg put their lead ahead another goal as Sam Jones struck home the 2 - 0 goal, after an attack from the left setting him up unmarked with the keeper. The referee showed Galesburgs Daryl Mosley the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. United seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion about the organization of the team. Man, what a shot by Fidel Mateu Vilaseca! Firing from 35 yards he didn't give the enemy goalie a chance and it was 2 - 1. 42 minutes into the game Unitedīs Fidel Mateu Vilaseca found a gap in the home sides central defense scoring with a long shot, making it 2 - 2. The 44:th minute saw the home team take a 3 - 2 lead after a leak in the visitors right side defense. Scorer for Galesburg was Daryl Mosley. Galesburg put themselves up 4 - 2 when Sam Jones broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. By then Sam Jones was a three time scorer - a hat trick! 4 - 2 was the half-time score. Galesburg held the ball, with a clear 67 percent possession rate. United -coach had an extra briefing during the break, and after that his players looked a lot more organized. United had a fair chance to reply after 60 minutes, due to some fine moves down the left, but in the end no one was there to put their head to the ball as it was lifted into the box. A bit later, a magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Galesburgīs Martin Schrader putting the lead up to 5 - 2. United had obvious problems in finding their positions. In the 79:th minute Galesburg put themselves up 6 - 2. The visitors defenders lost the ball to Inge Oskarsson coming up from the left, who proceeded to cooly round the goaltender and knock the ball home. By now Galesburg were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. United had obvious problems in finding their positions. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Galesburg, with an impressive 77 percent possession of the ball. Most important Galesburg player was Daryl Mosley. Samuel Harrell on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important United player was Paris Numbers. However, Bryan Portillo made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 6 - 2. Galesburg Avengers Player rating and Team formation Midfield: poor Right Side Defence: poor Central Defence: weak Left Side Defence: inadequate Right Side Attack: solid Central Attack: excellent Left Side Attack: excellent FD United Player rating and Team formation Midfield: wretched Right Side Defence: inadequate Central Defence: passable Left Side Defence: weak Right Side Attack: passable Central Attack: passable Left Side Attack: passable Keeper: William Thomas (1.5*) Wingback: Martin Schrader (2.5*) (1 goal) Central Defender: Elliot Hammond (1.5*) Central Defender: Leonardo Andres Alvaro (2.5*) Winger: Howie Cole (1.5*) Winger: Wiley Otero (2.0*) Midfield: Jessee Matson (2.0*) Midfield: Inge Oskarsson (2.0*) (1 goal) Midfield: Samuel Harrell (1.5*) Striker: Daryl Mosley (2.5*) (1 goal) Striker: Sam Jones (2.0*) (3 goals - hat trick!) There you have it. Another dominating performance by my boys. We're cruising. Daryl Mosley has now scored at least one goal in every league match this season, and is tied for the series lead with a total of 7 goals. Sam Jones, after his killer performance in this match, sits 2nd on the leaderboard with 6 goals. Financially, we have issues, but these issues are less worrisome then before. We're heavily in debt, but, judging by the numbers, our newly expanded 11k arena will get us making a profit, so all shall be well. Our supporters are now high on life, and we are close to 600, at 589. On to the FOFC Cup, Round 2. Vexroid and his Sidekicks are considered a walk in the park for this scoring machine. Detailed scouting reports have arrived, and the reserve midfield is ready to rock. Early projections from the Custer Hotel and Casino in Galesburg have the Avengers the 4-1 favorites. |

Inbred goat rapers, just one more service...wait a second...that doesn't sound right.
Inbred goat rapers, just one more service the Raiders DO NOT provide. Go Avengers! Go Sidekicks!

So THAT'S why we had those freaky looking guys hanging around wondering where we kept the goats.
I knew those folks from Oklahoma were weird, but jeez. |
