So uh...how much did Dunkin Donuts have to pay for this?
Turin medals have hole in the middle Posted: Wednesday November 30, 2005 1:58PM; Updated: Thursday December 1, 2005 2:02AM
TURIN, Italy (AP) -- No, athletes at the Winter Games are not being rewarded with gold doughnuts -- it just looks that way. The new medal design for the Olympics in Turin, unveiled Wednesday, features a hole in the center of the metal disc. While it may appear as though biathletes have been using them for target practice, the medals are actually meant to represent the open space of an Italian piazza, or city square. The medals have the Turin logo on one side and images from various sports and disciplines on the other. The red silk ribbon that goes around the winner's neck is looped through the hole in the center.

Eh... it's not bad. Though it doesn't really matter so much with the nice red ribbon going through it.

Look terrible, but it's only Winter Olympics so they're not real gold medals anyway.

I think they look fine.
As for the Winter Olympics versus Summer Olympics debate... Hrmmm... Well, overall I would give the edge to the Summer Olympics, but the Winter Olympics have the best event of all Olympics by far: Olympic Hockey. Oh yeah....

In the record books, the names still look the same so I doubt the competitors care that much.

Good, now they can use them as washers whenever they need something tightened with a wrench.

And Curling, dammit! I love Curling!
Oh, and speed skating is fun. Especially when they knock into each other and scramble for the finish. The Winter Games have far more cool sports (no pun intended) than the Summer Games.
