Veteran Booms in FOF

We just completed our draft for the upcoming 2007 NAFL season, and although I didn't have any booms or bust draft picks, I noticed that my Veteran QB of 9 years jumped 25+ points in potential and in future. Went from 45/45 to 70/70. Both of the scouts I had were G to VG in qb ratings.

Is this just something random built in the code within the game, because I thought that large increases like this were just for younger players and then when the Vets reach like 10 yrs they decline in some cases? My backup QB has a high volatility rating, but why did it take so long to effect him? Another team experienced the same sort of boom but for a 6 year vet and that players Volatility is only average.

Not that I am complaining, but I did just trade away some 1st rounders for a young super star QB, and then all of the sudden my backup vet booms as well. I am sitting pretty with 2 Qb's now, starter in the late 80's/early 90's and my backup at 70/70.

I just noticed my first true Veteran boom in my single player career. Our backup RB, whom happen to be backing up the leagues greatest RB of the last 10 years, boomed from 41/41 to 58/58 in his 8th year in the league. Doesnt sound huge, but his Breakaway and Speed to Outside both ended up pegged at 100. Very nice surprise, especially with our main RBs career winding down. The backup was 31 when he boomed, so i have a few years left in him even.

Had you said Dick Cannon it would have been more funnier. Maybe even the most funniest.
